Amanda Peet Stays Upbeat With Frankie

Shooting the new apocalyptic film 2012 naturally had Amanda Peet thinking about the end of the world, but it’s something she says doesn’t concern her. “I couldn’t be more skeptical,” the 37-year-old actress tells PARADE. “I think there’s a lot to be concerned about, but that’s the least of my worries.”
With that said, there were still long days on set to contend with, filming scenes that were far from uplifting. Daughter Frances ‘Frankie’ Pen, 2 ½, did a good job of keeping Amanda’s mood light, however.
“It helped to come to her after a day of filming one disaster after another because she was just wanting me to read The Cat and the Hat or whatever,” Amanda shares. “That definitely kept me from getting too depressed.” She adds,
“I’m trying not to think about what the world will be like when she grows up. I think more about when is she going to start drinking and wearing a g-string and how can I stop those things from happening.”
As for her body-after-baby, Amanda admits that motivation to reclaim what once was is often lacking. “It’s not really working,” she quips. “I have an inner conflict.”
“I’ll be at the gym and I’ll start thinking, ‘What am I doing? I’m going to sag no matter what I do.’”
Frankie is Amanda’s daughter with screenwriter David Benioff. 2012 opens Friday.
