The article about “gender” issues incorrectly uses the term “gender”. Gender and sex are NOT the same thing. Sex is physical, penis/vagina, while gender is how you feel biologically/mentally. You can be a physical female in sex but a male in gender, hence there are transexuals.

Colleen, if we’re going to be really picky about this gender is actually a grammatical term. As in a word can be masculine or feminine. It was hijacked by a prominent feminist scholar (I’ve completely drawn a blank on her name) and now we use it to mean whether a person is masculine or feminine. Although increasingly, as the article does, it means sex. I’m currently doing a course in Gender and Justice, and a dissertation on Gender and the roots of citizenship, and it is much more than just sexes.
