Tiffani Thiessen Expecting First Child

Actress Tiffani Theissen and her husband, artist and actor Brady Smith, are expecting their first baby next May, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“We are over the moon!” the couple said in a statement. “It’s something we’ve wanted for a long time and we are thrilled that it’s actually happening.”

Balancing motherhood with her new role on USA’s drama White Collar will be a welcome adjustment for the star, best known for her work on Saved By the Bell and the original Beverly Hills 90210.

“I’ve never done it – it’s going to be a whole new thing,” she told PEOPLE in May when talking about the idea of becoming a mom.

Tiffani, 35, and Brady have been married since 2005.

Terri is right. A few months ago CBB featured a story on Tiffani where she talked about promoting her new TV show and said that now isn’t the best time to have a baby. She got blasted by a lot of commentors who said that she’s already in her mid-30′s and must be naive or ignorant to think she’ll easily get pregnant for very long. I think it’s obvious that she and Brady have been trying to conceive for quite some time, and it must have been tough answering the same, “When are you going to have a baby?” question repeatedly. It should prove to all of us that things aren’t always as they seem.
