Uh-did the “researcher” of that study forget about the Junk Food/Splendid/C&C California tees, True Religion jeans, and endless erray of footwear for kids? In other words, “normal clothes” that just happen to be designer? Sorry, but I think articles like these are why Americans are perceived as total slobs by the rest of the world. They have a point to an extent, but come on-it takes no more effort to put on a nice sweater and jeans than ripped sweats and stained sneakers.

I have to both agree with Lauren and the researcher in the clothes question. I used to work in Kindergarten and there was a problem with kids not being properly dressed. But I also noticed one child whos parents deliberately under dressed her in winter and “forgot” raingear so that she wouldn’t have to go out and that pissed me off. Kids need fresh air wether it’s cold outside or not, and if they are properly dressed thet is usually not a problem wether were talking about snow or rain (kids love splashing in puddles!). In the end the head teacher had to tell them that they had chosen a Kindergarten they knew spent the aftersnoon aoutdoors and if they didn’t agree with that they´d better change school. Fancy clothing however never stopped us from taking a kid out, parents should know that the kid has to be allowed to participate in any kindergarten activities, no matter if they were wearing clothes for $15 or $150, so if they send them to kindergarten in a $150 outfit they have to be ok with them being played in.
