Bottomline: Just because a celeb doesn’t sue, doesn’t mean the story is true!

If your response was for me, then here’s my answer: I don’t see any celebrity through rose colored glasses. I just don’t care, frankly. So much of what is printed, or what I see on online about celebrities has turned out to be false, just complete rubbish. “Angelina and Brad are splitting up…” or “so-and-so is cheating on his wife” etc. And nearly every time I read stuff like that, the celebrity themself comes out later and says there’s no factual basis to whatever the current rumor is. My own life is so different from theirs; my life and obligations do not resemble a celebrity’s in the slightest. So I don’t know about or understand the workings of a celebrity’s entourage, publicist, lawyer, and all the rest. Celebritys seem so far removed from the real world that truth must surely have to travel a long way from them to get to the rest of us. That’s surely like a game of telephone as CelebBabyLover said.

And about David and Victoria Beckham, maybe that whole bit is true, maybe it isn’t. I don’t know. Maybe they didn’t sue because it was true. Or maybe they didn’t sue because it wasn’t true, and suing would only draw more attention and draw out a saga for their family that wasn’t necessary. They do have their kids to think about, and the negative backlash they would receive in school and amongst their friends. And for what? So they could verify that David Beckham is an upstanding man and they get a few thousand dollars for their trouble? It’s not worth the effort. Who knows?

Again, my point, that I’m tiring of trying to make, is that I cannot say the rumors of this affair, or any other for that matter, are true or not. This woman may have voicemails from David Beckham or text messages or emails or whatever, but I know I’ve never read them for myself! I’ve never heard his voice calling her “sweetie” or “hot stuff” on her cell phone or read text messages directly on her phone from his looking for a late night booty call. I’ve not seen any of it with my own eyes, and I don’t mean in a newspaper or on Access Hollywood or some junk like that, but in person, in my hands. I’ve never seen it. And I never will! And I’m sure nobody else ever will either!

I’m saying I get most of my celebrity news from People online, People magazine, MSN, CNN online, NBC news. That’s where most of my info comes from, and I find them to be mostly trusthworthy sources. But, they’re still impersonal big news companies and they can get things wrong just like everybody else.

I didn’t mean to imply that you only get your news from tabloid sources, I’m just saying that’s the most popular source for news like this. If you have the inside track to the facts of these celebrities lives, then well, good for you, I guess. That must be a nice life you live and I’m jealous.

Now, I’m tired so I think I’m done writing about this. I feel like I’m walking on egg shells!

Bottomline: Think of it as the little kids’ game of telephone. By the time the message, or gossip in this case, gets to the last person in the “chain”, it’s bound to sound quite a bit different than when the first person told the second person.

In anycase, whether or not what your friends are saying is true, I think they should stop telling you that gossip. I mean, gossiping like that is hurtful and wrong. How would YOU like it if you had a secret like that and someone blabbed it?

Anyone’s word in the entertainment business, or a journalist’s words in a rag mag, are just that, words. Nothing more. Anyone who says desparaging remarks about a celebrity from a standpoint of having something to gain from the celebrity’s fall from grace, cannot be fully trusted to be speaking a dependable truth. So, I choose to disregard most of it as trash. My final point, if we each had a constant spotlight on our lives, a camera trained on our every move, magazines constantly quoting “unnamed sources” or “a friend of the star” who vouched for rumors as truth, the cobwebs in all of our closets would surely sparkle in the sunlight.

As for Jen and Brad’s vows, who cares? It wasn’t your wedding day and he/she is not your spouse.

Jessica- I agree whole heartedly agree with both of your comments. I also want to add that, in the case of Brad and Jennifer, it’s pretty obvious that they would have divorced even if Angie had never come into the picture. Personally, I am glad that neither of them is in unhappy marriage anymore, and that both have gotten what they most want (Brad a family, and Jennifer to focus on her career).
