Colin Farrell Welcomes Son Henry Tadeusz

It’s a boy for Colin Farrell and girlfriend Alicja Bachleda.

The couple, who costar in the upcoming film Ondine, welcomed son Henry Tadeusz Farrell on Wednesday, October 7th in Los Angeles, a rep for the actor tells PEOPLE.

Henry is the first child for Alicja, 26, and the second for Colin, who has a 6-year-old son, James, with model Kim Bordenave.

Confirming the pregnancy in September, Colin, 33, said he was looking forward to “everything” about parenthood. “I will take it as it comes. Even changing dirty diapers.”

I love Colin Farrell. Forget Brad Pitt! And Alicja is just gorgeous. She’s excellent in that movie, Trade. A really heartbreaking role and a movie everyone should see.

colin’s elder son has angelmans syndrome, which i’ve read is a genetic disorder from the paternal side. is this true? will henry have angelmans as well?

I love the name! I always love when parents honor their heritage. Tadeusz is a classic name in Poland. It’s the Polish form of Thaddeus and is pronounced tah-deh-oosh.

noam- Per Wikipedia, Angelman’s is caused by “deletion or inactivation of genes on the maternally inherited chromosome 15.”. In otherwords, it is passed on via the mother, not the father. Therefore, Henry is unlikely to have Angelman’s, as he has a different mother than James.

Tadeusz is polish traditional name but also Alicja’s father name. I thnik it is nice move to give your baby your father/mother name(even as the second name). my sister did it;)

Just a rumor or not, I saw a pic of them from like a week ago and she was clearly NOT pregnant anymore. I’m surprised the American sites didn’t pick up on that little noticable difference in her appearance.

I’ve read that Colin is really in love with Alicja so hopefully he will give up his womanizing ways now that he’s found that special woman. I wish them the best with their young family.

Media in Poland announced the news about birth of their baby about 2 weeks ago and also Alicia’s mother and brother confirmed the news- .Btw congrats and reaaly love his name , especially second – Tadeusz is very traditional name here in Poland

I can’t believe that she gave birth so quickly – i remember those pics of them on lax where it was totally obvious that she’s pregnant but i would have NEVER guessed that she was in her 3rd trimester already!!
both henry and tadeusz are very classic and traditional names and henry matches james very well so they’ve picked perfect names for their little baby.

oh and yeah. tadeusz is pronounced ta-de-osh. it’s the polish equivalent of thaddeus. i think it’s very nice of them to honor her dad this way. i hope alicja will teach her son polish as well, it’s soo important to submit your child to your native culture and language if you live abroad – which i am assuming that they will.
