Tina Fey Dishes on Daughter's Parental Confusion

Courtesy Harper’s Bazaar

While some celebrity moms opt to stretch their cares away at yoga, Tina Fey is definitely not among them. Noting that “even yoga classes go on 80 or 90 minutes,” the 39-year-old actress, executive producer and writer tells Harper’s Bazaar she hasn’t got the time. “I’ll do grave yoga,” she quips. “Someone can come and stretch me in my grave.”

For now, Tina has more than enough to keep her occupied between a busy career and an even busier daughter, 4-year-old Alice Zenobia, as is evident when she’s asked to describe a typical day.

“Work, come home, play, kid bounce, work again, go to bed.”

When it inevitably all comes to a head, Tina admits she will momentarily fear that she is “cracking up”  — but says it’s nothing to be ashamed of. “Sometimes you just need a minute to say, ‘I think I’m cracking’ and just acknowledge it,” she jokes. As for Alice, she recently did some cracking up of her own! Tina recalls,

“Last weekend she started chanting, ‘Daddy is my mom! Daddy is my mom!’”

Alice is Tina’s only child with husband Jeff Richmond.

I love tina but she clearly works too much

I love Tina Fey. I don’t know how she does it. Hilarious, gorgeous, hardworking, and a mom? I’m tired just thinking about it.

She is incredible. Beautiful, too. I wonder how she stays fit.

That is awesome. It sounds like Alice is well on her way to being as her mom.

I wouldn’t read too much into that quote; I’m sure that the time Tina spends with her daughter is meaningful to both of them. Even if Alex does spend more time with Alice, what’s wrong with that? He’s also her parent.

Laura I totally agree. Every time she describes her life in print (which she has done several times) I get exhausted just reading it!

I agree with Laura (#1 post) she clearly works too much. Time to relax and smell the roses, and in her case (be more with Alice!)

There’s one ONE childhood that Alice will have…
