Kourtney Kardashian Is Expecting a Boy!

Days after telling reporters that for “planning purposes” she would likely learn the sex of her baby-on-the-way, Kourtney Kardashian can begin decorating her nursery in earnest: The 30-year-old reality star “is having a boy,” her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Kourtney tells E! she’s looking forward to restoring the gender balance at home for brother Rob Kardashian and step-father Bruce Jenner. “A boy is definitely needed in this family,” she notes before adding,

“[Boyfriend] Scott [Disick] and I are thrilled to add a little boy to the bunch. Bruce and Rob told me it would be a boy the whole time!”

Baby boy is due around Christmas and will be the first child together for Kourtney and Scott, who announced the pregnancy in August.

So she can only decorate the nursery if she knows the sex of the baby? Is it a preconception on my part or is “people in the US” (I know it sounds really bad) terribly affraid of not drenching their boy in blue/girl in pink? I have that feeling that in US, “boy things” are for boys and “girl things” are for girls – am I right or have I (luckily) got it all wrong?

Sandra, I’m planning to find out before decorating. It wont be my only reason but there are color combinations that I want for my son and not my daughter. I just imagine the rooms differently.

Aside from that, I don’t know about other families, but in my mine once you say you’re having a certain gender that’s all the baby stuff you get which makes it harder to hand it down. Neutrals and colors of all kinds work but they don’t ever seem to get over pink/light colors or blue/dark colors once a gender is mentioned. I don’t plan to mention it though so we’ll probably get neutrals when the time comes

Sandra, you can do whatever you want here with decorating and buying for babies. Most people would likely choose differently for a boy or a girl though. That doesn’t mean you buy only sports motif for boys and flowers for girls. In my experience you can just do the nursery after the baby is born because the baby doesn’t need it much the first few months anyway. I think she’s just excited and likes to plan though.

I can’t wait for this baby to be born. Im curiuos about so many things, like, the babies first name, if the middle name might be Robert after her father, if the baby will carry the Kardashian name (along with Scotts I would assume), and something I really am curious about is how much of the Armanian gene will be passed to this baby. Every single one of the Kardashian are so beautiful in their own way and I would love to see this baby have a little color to it, a little Armanian going on

I thought it was a boy too, no surprise! But did anyone see the episode where they decide to keep the baby (on K & K Miami) and Scott says “We hope its a she. I don’t want something like me popping out”. Hmm…that sounds a little sketchy, but hope everything works out ok. The baby will be adorable! Congrats to the family.

I won’t be finding out though when and if I ever become pregnant again. I want a surprise. I already have my daughter’s carseat that she NEVER got to use, but it will NOT work for a boy at all. It is pink. So if I were to become a mother to a boy I wouldn’t be able to use that. But I will also only use an infant carseat for the first couple weeks, then switch to a convertible carseat.
