Tyler Christopher Welcomes Son Greysun James

Jen Lowery/Startraks

It’s a boy for General Hospital star Tyler Christopher and wife Brienne Pedigo. The couple — who last week celebrated their first wedding anniversary — welcomed Greysun James Christopher on Saturday, two days after his Oct. 1 due date; Baby boy weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz., Tyler posted on Twitter.

Several days before the birth Tyler wrote that he was “in full baby mode” already, adding that although Greysun had not yet arrived “u would think so with the chaos at my house.” By Saturday afternoon the effects of all that chaos appeared to be taking a toll on the proud new papa, who tweeted,

“Slept 4 hours in three days. Feel like I’m on acid. Post pics soon.”

Tyler, 36, and Brienne announced the pregnancy in April.

Greysun…I like it. Different, but cool and so masculine. Congrats!

Not too fond of the spelling (I prefer Grayson), but congrats to them! I am an avid GH watcher and have been waiting for this announcement :)

- Jess from Ohio on

I guess it’s like Grayson – like the spelling Grayson better!

But anyways, Congrats to Tyler and Brienne!

- Sabina on

This spelling burns by eyes. Is this name an homage to smog (i.e. the sun is gray)

- Mira on

Greysun plays well into Tyler’s Native American heritage.

Tyler said on his own website that he has been cooking up a storm
since he is having 30 people over for Thanksgiving..making ravioli
and soup stock even telling how ..It is great he is excited about his son.. and that his mom is coming in to help..All to get ready
for the baby.. Thanks celebrity baby blog..He is the original Nikolas ….and they are going to be great parents

- Tara Spencer on

What?! I didn’t know this guy Tyler Christopher was married to Eva Longoria. He’s her ex-husband? Wow.

- Lily on

Congrats to them! I don’t watch the show, and I despise the spelling lol, but it’s always wonderful to see a very happy little family :)

- Harley on

Yes and he was also engaged to Vanessa Marcil for 2 years where he
got his two german shepherds..than he married Eva when she was on
the show as a Brenda look a like..and he also dated his co star
Natalia Livingston…Wonder when Eva got engaged to Tony Parker
that they made it seem that it was her first marriage..

I like the name but not the spelling. Nevertheless, congratulations on their new son.

love the name! my baby boy is Greyson. it’s amazing that you think you find something a tiny bit different, but sure enough you start hearing it more frequently later :)

- sar on

Greysun is going to spend the rest of his life telling people how to spell his name.

- Starling on

Congrats. I love the name but prefer the spelling “Grayson”.

- Elizabeth on

Aww, poor kid. He’ll spend his entire life spelling his name out. I should know, I continue to do this 33 years after I was born because my parents thought they were being new and cool by spelling my name differently.

- eternalcanadian on

You think Greysun is bad, try ‘Ghislaine’.
I was constantly having to spell that, and even still today.
I hated it as a child, but don’t mind something unique now.

- Laine on

I like the unique spelling. It’s still a more name only unique.

Congratulations to Tyler and Brienne. Love her on ESPN.

- Paige on

Wow I normally don’t comment on here at work, but right now I had to. I just had to say that I do NOT like the spelling at all.

It is too literal for me.

- Jessi on

LOL, this was great to read. My son will be 13 on Christmas Eve and his name is Greyson James :)

Mira Says:

Exactly my thought! I dont mind Grayson, but Graysun makes me think of smog. As for having to spell his name all the time, well that goes for a lot of people, even those with quite common names especially if you move outside of your own langage sphere. It also goes for all Jaden/Jadyn/Jaydon/Jaydyns etc. who have common names with different spellings. I constantly spell my name wether I get asked or not since it gets misspelled more often than not (and my name is not that uncommon, and it’s the original spelling) but I still get letters and name tags with unique spelling, which is highly annoying. So as for him having to spell his name all the time, he’ll get used to it, it’s really not a big deal unless you spell it to someone and they still get it wrong.

its a good name, just the spelling annoys me! but hes not my kid. i love gh! :) i always watch it! :D

- Tina. on

I LIKE THE NAME GRAYSUN AND HOW IT IS SPELLED IT’S COOL. IT’S THE 2009 NOW…. I WATCH GH LOVE THE CAST
CONGRATS ON THE BABY

- ANITA on

Congratulations to both of you! You must be so proud – you chose a lovely name. Wishing you all the best in work and in play. I learned recently (with the birth of my best friend’s son – Liam Matthew) that there are 2 things to remember throughout your life:
1) you are NEVER too old to believe in magic
2) “life is not what the world holds for you, but what you bring to it”

Congratulations again!
