Jenna Elfman Dishes On Her 'Genuinely Funny' Son Story

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin

Soon-to-be mother of two — she recently announced she is due with her second child in MarchJenna Elfman has no qualms admitting she much prefers coddling over crying when it comes to her children. However, according to a new interview with Cookie magazine, there is much more laughter than tears in Jenna and her husband Bodhi‘s household!

“After dinner we chase each other around the house, laughing,” she shares, adding that the comedian of the bunch is often 2-year-old Story Elias.

“He’s actually genuinely funny. He does funny voices and physical comedy.”

On the other hand, motherhood isn’t always fun and games. Beginning with her difficulty in regaining her body after baby — something Jenna attributes to her c-section — the Accidentally on Purpose star also struggled with nursing her baby boy. “[My most frazzled mom moment was] trying to learn and master breastfeeding,” she recalls. Fortunately, her hard work paid off! “The breastfeeding really helped burn the pounds off,” she says.

As Jenna balances her role of both good and bad cop — “I play both depending on the issue and the timing of the situation” — she keeps the words of wisdom of her own mother in mind. “That you can never give a child too much love,” she explains. While she may appreciate her mother’s advice, Jenna, whose one wish is that she “had children sooner,” is also open to sleep habit hints.

“[I spend my nights thinking about] how to get my son to sleep through the night!”

Sheryl Crow 'Always Knew' She Wanted to Be a Mom

Michael Buckner/Wireimage

The future Sheryl Crow envisioned for herself only a few short years ago was nothing out of the ordinary: a house, a husband, and a family. However, when the songstress realized that her path in life had taken an unexpected turn, she was more than happy to work with the cards she had been dealt. “I had to let go of this picture I’d always painted about my life,” she reveals in the October issue of Health magazine.

Intent on having children, Sheryl was undeterred by her single status; She began the journey to expand her family through adoption. “At the time I was considering adoption, everything else had sort of not worked,” she admits. More than willing to “let go of the story you tell,” to open up new doors “for other things to come in,” Sheryl committed herself to finding her child.

“I always knew that I wanted to be a mom, so I just had great faith that when that little person found me, that I would be ready and everything would be fine.”

Fine, indeed! Sheryl became the proud mama of her now 2-year-old son Wyatt Steven in 2007. Full swing into motherhood — and clearly loving it — the 47-year-old makes manners a priority in her household, most noticeably respect. “Respect is huge — respect for the planet and honoring and loving this organism that sustains all of us,” she says.

In addition to being respectful, Sheryl notes, her toddler will also grow up with a kind heart.

“Try to make every decision out of compassion, which encompasses how you treat the planet and every person.”

Despite her celebrity status, Sheryl laughs that she is kept in check by none other than her love of music. “Yesterday, I took Wyatt to Little Gym…and there was a version of ‘When You Wish Upon a Star,’ by I think, Take 6 on. And it just slayed me,” she shares. “I found that now the songs that I go to are songs that I grew up with, like ‘Someone to Watch Over Me.’ It’s comforting to me as a mother, and it’s comforting to me as a human being, that there is something bigger than myself out there.”

Gisele Bündchen's Boston Bump

Fame

Out for a walk while chatting on the phone, Gisele Bündchen was spotted out in Boston on Thursday.

The expectant supermodel, 29, recently revealed that she and husband Tom Brady don’t know the sex of their baby on the way — they want a delivery surprise.

“We will only know when it is born, in December. Until then, it is a surprise. I want the emotion of finding out then if it is a boy or a girl.”

David Duchovny Opens Up About Family’s Move to NYC

Snezana Dorbrijevic

Actors David Duchovny and Téa Leoni have moved to the Big Apple, much to the delight of their children Madelaine West, 10, and Kyd Miller, 7. “They love it, they love it,” David, 49, said during a recent turn as co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly. “We’re back!”

The reunited couple are former New York City natives themselves and both kids have been enrolled at their parents’ former schools, with West at The Brearley School and Miller at Collegiate.

“It’s almost 75 years since I went there,” David joked of the latter. “It’s all changed, but there are some elements that are the same.” Admitting that it’s “freaky” to find himself waiting for Miller to finish up class, David notes,

“You don’t sit in a hallway in a school unless you’ve done something wrong. So I’m always sitting in the hallway thinking, ‘What have I done?’ Or maybe the statute of limitations for what I did in high school isn’t over, and [Miller is] going to come say, ‘Dad, you’ve got some detentions to fulfill.’”

Wast and Miller are making the “big adjustment” with ease, right down to looking the part of city slickers! “Now they want cell phones,” David shared. “They have no one to call, but hey…They just want the thing; It seems adult to them, so they want the gadget.”

David and Téa marked twelve years of marriage in May. His series, Californication, premieres tonight at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
