Mustela Bebe: Works Wonders on Babies — and Moms!

Too busy with the baby for pampering?

Try out Mustela’s Bebe line of skin care products on yourself for a little pick-me-up.

Made in France, the hypoallergenic and alcohol-free products not only hydrate and protect the delicate skin of babies, but work wonders on overworked moms as well.

I especially like the PhysiObebe No Rinse Cleaning Fluid ($14.50/10 oz) with aloe vera, for removing make-up or stubborn dirt. It left my face feeling super clean, yet moist and fresh.

In addition to the bottles of the cleanser, Mustela also sells Facial Cleansing Cloths with PhysiOBebe ($7.50/25 wipes), which can be used for cleaning the faces of both mom and baby, or for a quick sponge bath for infants.

Malcolm McDowell's Motivation? College Expenses!

John Shearer/WireImage

Despite having already surpassed the standard age of retirement, Malcolm McDowell is still going strong in the movie industry with his new film Halloween 2.

While his love for acting certainly serves as a motivating factor — he laughs that the business keeps him young — the 66-year-old tells PARADE that his five children Lily Amanda, 27, Charles Malcolm, 25, Beckett Taylor, 5 ½, Finnian Anderson, 2 ½, and Seamus Hudson, 7 ½ months, keep him striving for success at his age. “I love what I do,” Malcolm says.

“But it just reminds me I can’t afford to retire. I have to pay for their college.”

Recently bringing Seamus to the premiere of his movie, Malcolm admits it’s not unusual for he and wife Kelley to pack the family’s bags and bring baby along for the ride. “I’ve got three young children, one’s a baby that my wife and I drag around to film locations,” he reveals. However, as a veteran father, Malcolm shares the task is often easier said than done, before adding that the rewards are well worth the struggle!

“It’s not easy to travel with them, something of a logistical nightmare actually, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love them to death.”

Halloween 2 is now in theaters. Lily and Charles are his children with ex-wife Mary Steenburgen, while Beckett, Finnian, and Seamus are his boys with Kelley.

Kellie Martin's Creative Kid's Room

As a child, former ER star Kellie Martin loved acting out in the “big gowns and high heels” that filled her dress-up box. Her daughter Margaret ‘Maggie’ Heather, 2, however, prefers cooking — and cleaning! — to costumes. “She has a little mop and a little broom. But her favorite thing is the wooden kitchen; I’ll start dinner, and she’ll ‘cook’ too,” says Kellie, who lives in Los Angeles.

Just outside the playroom (a onetime sunroom “surrounded by trees and sky,”) Kellie and her husband, lawyer Keith Christian, 35, planted a garden filled with strawberries, carrots —and pumpkins “that are so big already, I’m scared they’ll take over the yard!” But Kellie, 33, loves the room’s connection to nature. “It’s very joyful,” she says. “I want this to be a place where Maggie is inspired.”

Erykah Badu on Homeschooling, Homebirths and More

Sara Jaye Weiss/Startraks

The importance of a quality education can never be underscored, and that’s why Erykah Badu says she felt compelled to homeschool son Seven Sirius, 11 ½, through kindergarten and first-grade. “I wanted to give [him] special attention academically, to give him an advantage,” the 38-year-old songstress explains in a new interview with Babble.

Mission accomplished! Erykah says that through their collective effort, Seven “learned how to solve problems in a nontraditional way” which has served him well now that he is enrolled in a traditional school. “He developed an edge in his schoolwork,” Erykah notes. “He enjoys challenges…He pushes himself…He does his homework voluntarily.”

“He does not want to miss school or be late or be untidy or not have his things in order because that was a big part of how he was brought up. I don’t have any idea what Seven is going to choose to do, but he knows how to be disciplined and how to learn, and because of that he’s one of the top students in his school, and one of the top students in Dallas.”

Citing “parents not participating in kids’ schooling,” as her biggest parental pet peeve, Erykah adds,

“I don’t think it matters what school you go to, but I think it’s important for parents to be involved. And to know that when school stops, learning continues, and to continue teaching at home.”

Caught Caring: David Arquette and Feeding America

Celebrity Baby Blog – Caught Caring

For all its wealth and opportunity, even the United States is not immune to hunger. Approximately one in eight Americans go hungry each and every day — forced to skip meals for sometimes days on end — and contrary to popular thought, the problem is not limited to the inner city. Feeding America, an organization devoted to stamping out hunger, estimates that more than 42% of its clients reside in rural or suburban areas. What’s more, in 2006 4.2 million suburban households experienced food insecurity, while an additional 1.5 million were living in a state of very low food security. The bottom line? Your neighbors, your co-workers, your child’s classmates could be going hungry right now.

Matt Sayles/AP

David Arquette, dad to 5-year-old Coco Riley with wife Courteney Cox-Arquette, has heard these sobering statistics and was motivated to help as a result.

A volunteer with Feeding America, the 37-year-old actor has pitched in at Los Angeles-area foodbanks two times a week for the last year.

“It’s amazing when you see the people face-to-face,” he tells PEOPLE. “You see a kid in a stroller, and you give his family a bag of food, and the kid just reaches in and pulls out a piece of bread and just starts eating it. You can tell right away that this is a serious situation.”

For our smallest Americans, especially. With proper nutrition so vital to their growth and development, it is particularly distressing that Feeding America currently serves more than 9 million children, 2 million of which are under the age of five.

“The problem of childhood hunger is not simply a moral issue,” Feeding America notes. “Scientific evidence suggests that hungry children are less likely to become productive citizens. A child who is unequipped to learn because of hunger and poverty is more likely to be poor as an adult. As such, the existence of childhood hunger in the United States threatens future American prosperity.”
