Thad Luckinbill on the Importance of Setting Boundaries With Kids

That his son Thaddeus Rowe is just 22-months-old hasn’t stopped The Young and The Restless star Thad Luckinbill from looking down the road to the days when he’ll wear his bad cop hat. Although it isn’t a role he relishes, the actor says it’s important nonetheless.

“I grew up with kids whose parents were their best friends, so they didn’t have boundaries or learn to compromise,” Thad recalls in the Sept. 15 issue of Soap Opera Digest, “and I think children need to understand consequences.”

“Rowe isn’t at that age where we’ve really had to discipline him because he doesn’t understand quite yet when he’s doing something wrong.  I think it will be soon when we’ll have to put our foot down.”

Adding that “when he gets older, I’ll probably become more of a disciplinarian,” Thad, 34, goes on to concede that “right now I’m pretty soft.” Case in point? He adds,

“When he cries, I have to pick him up.”

Rowe is Thad’s son with wife and co-star Amelia Heinle. The couple are currently expecting their second child together, a girl.

Nicolas Cage and Kal-El Go to Glastonbury

In a recently released photo, Nicolas Cage and his son Kal-El Coppola, 3 ½, attend the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza last month in the UK.

Sporting pink streaks in his hair, Kal-el wasn’t too interested in the music, so Nicolas took him aside and the two began play-fighting with lightsabers!

Kal-El is Nicolas’ son with wife Alice Kim. He is also dad to son Weston, 18.

TLC's Chilli on Dating As a Single Mom

As she prepares to embark on what is becoming increasingly-common territory — a reality television dating show — former TLC member Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas says that her 12-year-old son Tron will be first and foremost in her mind as she settles on a suitor.

“I would never get serious with anyone who had a problem with kids,” the 38-year-old songstress tells Essence. “I don’t like when women are dating and they present every guy they are dating as a boyfriend around the kids.”

Instead, Chilli says that she uses restraint. She adds,

“When you are a great mom, it’s hard to not bring someone you are dating around your kid, but you don’t display affection in front of them. “This is mommy’s friend,” and that’s so your kids aren’t confused and develop bad habits.”

Tron is Chilli’s son with ex-boyfriend Dallas Austin. Her reality show will debut on VH1 this fall.

Tweet, Tweet: A Clue to How Sparrow Got His Name

After Nicole Richie and Joel Madden named their son Sparrow James Midnight, speculation has brewed over how they came up with the avian moniker. The answer may have arrived, appropriately, in a Tweet.

“A song for the little songbird,” Joel writes on his Twitter page, and links to “Sparrow” from Simon & Garfunkel.

He doesn’t say whether the song inspired the name or the name inspired the Tweet. Either way, the song speaks of a tired and hungry little bird, alone and needy, and ends with the lines:

“Who will love a little Sparrow? Will no one write her eulogy? “I will,” said the Earth, “For all I’ve created returns unto me, From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be.”

Tom Brady Confirms Gisele Bündchen's Pregnancy

After months of speculation, revealing photos and chatty sources, Tom Brady has confirmed the good news: wife Gisele Bündchen is, indeed, pregnant.

In an interview with ESPN’s Chris Berman airing Sunday on SportsCenter and on Monday Night Countdown, the 32-year-old New England Patriots quarterback reveals that the couple — who married earlier this year — expect their baby-on-the-way in December.

While Tom said he would happily attend Lamaze classes with Gisele, he will do so with at least one caveat: “I told her no Sundays,” he joked. “It couldn’t be harder than training camp, so I’ll be prepared.” Noting that “the women are the ones who have to do the work,” he adds,

“We just have to be there to support them and so it’ll be nice to do that.”

The child will be the first for Gisele and the second for Tom, who is already dad to 2-year-old John Edward Thomas with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
