Hiding the Extra Baby Weight Is a 'Cinch!'

Like most new moms, after the arrival of your beautiful baby you are on cloud nine with an undeniable sense of love. Until you notice that postpartum bulge.

There’s some help on the way with the Cinch, an abdominal wrap designed to help suck in your midsection and regain your waistline. It’s like a girdle only softer, way more comfy and with just the right amount of support to remind you how to properly hold your core, post-baby. And it works similarly to how Spanx works — seemingly taking off pounds just by wearing the appropriate under-garment.

Simple, adjustable elastic straps allow for the right fit — you can really tighten the Cinch to suck it in a lot, or keep it at modest tension (which still seems to do the trick too). Wear the Cinch while hanging out in the comforts of home or under loose garments (like a dress) during the day. It can go undetected; I tried wearing it at work for a full day and nobody caught on.

It’s made with a nylon-polyester-Spandex fabric that’s lightweight, breathable, and really smooth (no bulk!). It’s not the most comfortable thing to suck in your gut all day with a wrap around your core, but it really does help you retrain your stomach muscles and focus on getting back your pre-pregnancy waistline.

Cinch is made by Anew and retails for $89 but CBB readers can enter code CBBCinch at checkout for a 15% discount on all products, good through October 20.

Jennifer Connelly: Ruthless Ninja, Relaxed Mom

Freddie Baez/Startraks

The slower-paced lifestyle on the West Coast took some getting used to for Jennifer Connelly and her two children Kai, 12, and Stellan, 6. Temporarily relocated from their home in Brooklyn, the family-of-four — which includes Jennifer’s husband actor Paul Bettany — eventually “settled in” and their new digs “became great,” she said during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “We found some things to become involved in,” she notes.

“For my kids it was swimming. My younger son couldn’t swim at all when we got here, and now he’s doing cannonballs into the pool, and flips. My older son has perfected his dive.”

Jennifer herself has taken up mixed martial arts, joking that “inside this sort of mild-mannered woman beats the heart of a ruthless ninja.” Her newfound toughness is lost on the boys, however. “My children are not scared of me that I’ve noticed so far, no,” she concedes. “I don’t think I’m particularly strict.”

Case in point? While Jennifer has a no-tolerance policy for “rudeness,” her stance on cursing is considerably more relaxed!

Clive Owen Opens Up About Playing a Dad Onscreen

Jon Furniss/WireImage

In his new film The Boys Are Back, Clive Owen — a father-of-two in real life — plays a parent onscreen, a role he says was long overdue.

“It felt like I was exploring a big part of my life that I haven’t explored in my work before,” the 44-year-old actor noted shortly before the film premiered this week at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I am a parent of two girls and I’ve always seen that as very separate. I go off and make movies and the rest of the time I’m a parent. And this was a script exploring all that world.”

Although the subject matter was at times dark — Clive portrays a widower raising his two sons — the contrasting parenting styles of moms and dads was nonetheless fun to explore. “A day with dad is inevitably different from a day with mom,” Clive notes. “It just is.”

“I think that the heavy, nurturing thing that a mother brings to a child is different from a guy. This is taken to the extreme, but there is almost an element of that with dad. I think it’s just an instinct thing. We’re not as overly protective as mothers are. Sometimes that’s not good, but I like that the film is about that, too.”

One thing Clive is clearly protective of with daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, 10, is their movie viewing habits! Most of his films have been off-limits to the girls, prompting him to quip, “They’ll have a lot to catch up [on] when they’re 18.”

Hannah and Eve are Clive’s daughters with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton. The Boys Are Back hits theaters September 25th.

Anne Heche Calls James Tupper 'A Wonderful Father'

Kevan Brooke/AdMedia

It’s two thumbs up for first-time father James Tupper, actress Anne Heche says. With the couple recently welcoming their first child together — son Atlas, 6 months — Anne has nothing but praise for her partner. “He’s a wonderful father,” the Hung star reveals in the September 21st issue of Us Weekly.

Her high marks may have something to do with the pair’s schedule. While Anne, 40, deals with Atlas’ midnight feedings, James happily takes the morning shift.

“I get up at night now with the baby, but when Atlas gets up at 8 for his morning I’m-ready-to-rock, it’s daddy time!” she laughs.

“He takes the baby for three hours and gives me a little break.”

In addition to Atlas, Anne is also mom to 7 ½-year-old Homer, her son with ex-husband Coley Laffoon.

David Boreanaz: Life is 'All Good' With New Baby

Baxter/ABACA

It’s been two and a half weeks since David Boreanaz and wife Jaime Bergman welcomed their second child, daughter Bardot Vita, and everyone is “happy and healthy,” the Bones star tells PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “It’s all good.”

Enjoying a short break at FOX’s Eco-Casino party on Monday, David compared the transition into fatherhood to the situation his character of Seeley Booth is working through on Bones, calling it a “very interesting road … looking at love, finding it and trying to apply it to somebody who really is special.”

Costar Emily Deschanel added that the new dad was a little “nervous before the baby was born,” but is now “just so happy. He’s excited to be a daddy again!” Calling baby Bardot “adorable,” the actress reveals that the proud papa is “always showing pictures of her [on set].”

The chemistry may be palpable between David and Emily’s onscreen characters, but off camera, it’s David’s 7-year-old son, Jaden Rayne, with whom Emily has formed a tight bond.

“It sounds terrible,” jokes Emily, “but we play like stuntmen. Basically we pretend to beat each other up. It’s so much fun. We tackle each other and it’s fun. You can say we play football together!”

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
