The Wean Machine: Instant Baby Food On the Go!

The Wean Machine ($24) is a hand-held device to quickly purée food for your baby.

You can take any soft or steamed food, squeeze it in this little non-electric device (which looks a little like a garlic press) and have an single serving of baby food in seconds.

Just put food in the Wean Machine’s bowl and squeeze the handles together. Then feed your baby straight from the Wean Machine’s bowl (a spoon is included).

Two different size strainers are included, along with a plastic cover for the unit.

While you could use your fork to mash up food for your child or make your own purees/jars of baby food, the benefit of the Wean Machine is that you can instantly and evenly purée fresh food for your child, right at the table.

Cobie Smulders 'Grateful' to Have Help With Daughter Shaelyn

Gregg DeGuire/PictureGroup

It takes a village to raise a child and Cobie Smulders couldn’t be more appreciative of the help she has received since welcoming her daughter Shaelyn Cado, 4 months. “My fiancé [Taran Killam's] family is in the area so we have a lot of help, but without that I would be a crazy person,” the actress tells OK!.

An additional set of hands — or two! — is not something Cobie takes for granted. In fact, she notes that since the birth of Shaelyn, she has nothing short of admiration for all single mothers. “I definitely have so much, not like I didn’t have it before, but I have so much respect for single moms,” she says.

Sharing that her mother raised four children, Cobie considers herself fortunate when it comes to her own baby girl.

“It’s a lot of work and I feel extremely grateful because my job allows me a lot of flexibility and freedom. And financially I am able to have a lot of help around.”

As for her ability to bounce back quickly after baby, Cobie brushes off any dieting suggestions and instead credits her weightloss to nursing and plain old good luck. “I can’t really diet because I’m breastfeeding and I think that I am blessed with very good genes, as well,” she explains. Fortunately for the new mama, the pregnancy pounds that she did have to shed after giving birth were limited!

“I didn’t gain a lot with my pregnancy so I didn’t have a lot to work off.”

Although her How I Met Your Mother costar Alyson Hannigan brings her baby Satyana, 6 months, to work with her, Cobie only “sometimes” brings her daughter on-set, “but not as much as Aly does.” According to Cobie, Shaelyn is still adjusting to her surroundings.

“She is just now being comfortable with herself being in this world so now I can bring the baby out more.”

Gena Lee Nolin Opens Up About Battle With Postpartum Depression

Courtesy Life & Style for use on CBB

In an new interview with Life & Style, Gena Lee Nolin, 37, opens up for the first time about her long struggle with postpartum depression (PPD).

“It’s a roller coaster of emotion,” she says. “It’s so intense and comes on so quickly. Your hormones are completely out of whack.”

Unfortunately, the feelings of despair that came with her third delivery — daughter Stella Monroe arrived last December — were painfully familiar: Gena had experienced PPD following the birth of her sons, Spencer, 12, and Hudson Lee, 3.

“It was really hard with the first one because I didn’t see it coming,” Gena explains. “I couldn’t figure out why I was so sad when I had this beautiful, healthy baby and a great job. Baywatch was the No. 1 show in the world at that time. I had nothing to be upset about. I thought I was nuts.”

But when her uncontrollable crying didn’t stop after six months, Gena, who was married to Greg Fahlman at the time, knew she needed help. So the actress sought guidance from a counselor and spent seven months on a low dose of antidepressants.

Click below to read about Gena’s struggle with PPD after her subsequent pregnancies.
