On-The-Go Car Sunshade Kit Keeps Kids Shady

The Prince Lionheart On-The-Go Car Sunshade Kit is a static cling sunshade that sticks to car windows, designed to shade your children from the sun’s rays. It costs around $5.50 for 1 — or you may be able to find it in a twin pack (you’re going to need two anyway). Harmful UV rays are reduced by 99 percent with this sunshade, which measures 16-in. by 22-in.

To install, unfold the sunshade and use the included sponge/squeegee tool to flatten it. Then carefully stick it onto your window and use the sponge/squeegee to smooth out any air bubbles on the shade.

We liked this smoked gray vinyl sunshade, because it actually stuck to our back car windows. In fact, I was able to roll down the windows with ease. Just be careful and go slow while lowering and raising windows — or it could bunch up!

Be warned that if you have a busy busy child like I do they will peel these off within moments of being in their car seat. If you are going to have your child seated next to the window and you think they will peel these off try a different product.

I love that baby’s car seat! It looks so much more comfy than the ones I was in as a baby. Yeah, it does look like something a child would love to rip off the window.

How friggin old is that car seat?! Good thing (I hope) it’s just a prop.

Thing looks like something my little sister used…she’s 20. neat product idea… I have tinted windows so I didn’t have to worry about that. :-)

If you have your child properly tightened in the car seat, they shouldn’t be able to reach the windows until they are way older. My 4 year old is unable to reach the windows in my van and he is on the back bench seat next to the window….
Also please make sure that your harness straps are properly tightened the harnesses on this baby is not tight enough.

Oh, but awesome product!! These are recommended over the roller shades as these are ALOT safer to use. I have a few in my van and they work wonderful!

Can we please have a better model for the carseat? That baby is not properly harnessed

Just get your windows tinted. $200 well spent and no need for worries if your child peel off anything.

my child is in his car seat properly, but he’s in a Britax Boulevard and we have a Toyota Corola so guess what he’s nice and close to the windows in it.

Not everyone has a minivan Shanora.

Yes, Sharona, I have my children properly harnessed in their carseats in the back of my camry and they can open the doors and windows. They are in Britax Marathons and they’re sitting up pretty high. These would be worthless in that vehicle. (we have since flipped the child locks on the back doors).
But, I am definitely going to pick up a couple of these for our van, even though the windows are tinted, the sun still is pretty hot back there. Plus, for longer trips, it will darken it for the video monitor.

Besides the car seat being old and baby not harnessed correctly this baby should be rear facing anyways. It is now recommended to rear face to 2 years old. Harder to reach the windows then too.
