Because of complications I had to be induced. The induction process took about 12 hours with the foley and the oxytocin or whatever it was.The DR’s we so convinced that I would need a C-section, especially because I was 36 weeks and it was my first child. i held out and refused.Unless it was a serious medical emergency, I wanted it to be a last minute option because I wanted to have my baby “the regular way”.After they broke my water, I was in labour for 2 hours and then my son was born :)

The DR who was going to deliver him was in surgery delivering a C-section baby because she believed that I would really need a c-section or my labour would be long and drawn out.Because of the c-section belief, they were only allowing me to have very very light meals and popcicles, because I couldn’t have a full stomach or something.

I was positively famished because it had been almsot 3 whole days since I had a “real” meal. I used my hunger as a drive to get me through my labour. When it was over and my son was born, I was pumped with adrenaline for some reason.I couldn’t shut up, I just kept talking and I was walking around all active and stuff, cruising down the hall to see my friend’s baby that had been born also but by c-section.The nurses were so sweet. They sored me this amazing tray with so much deliciousness :)

"Your child's not looking at you and going, 'Mmm, I love a clavicle. Let me nestle into that.'"
