Heidi Klum Goes Bold in Black

Va va voom! Heidi Klum shows off her second-skin gown, custom-made by Marchesa, at Sunday evening’s Emmy awards, held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.

Due with her daughter in mid-October, the Project Runway host chatted about the idea behind the dress.

“It wasn’t really hard for me, but it was hard for the woman that designed a dress for me,” she laughed. “She started about two or three months ago and that’s kind of difficult…It’s black because I figure, at eight-and-a-half months, black is better! I think it’s elegant and slimming.”

Seal and Heidi are THE CUTEST!! IMO….I love them. They always seem so pleasant and down to earth and most importantly are very family oriented often having Erna (her Mom) and Guenther(her Dad) with them.

There is no doubt about it, Heidi Klum is stunning! But there is something about the silhouette of that gown that I just don’t care for. It’s almost too form fitting. I absolutely LOVE women’s bodies when they are pregnant, but her dress doesn’t do it for me. Flaunt it if you’ve got it, but that dress looks painted on and you see the belly and not her. Makes me wonder what the judges would have thought had one of the designers sent that dress down the runway. . .kwim?

I have to agree with Gingi. Heidi is stunning, beautiful, glowing, but somehow this is not my favorite look on her. I too, think women look great pregnant and there’s nothing wrong with accentuating her bump. I guess it’s just this dress, in my opinion, is all about the bump, and only the bump. The rest of Heidi kinda gets lost in this look. Perhaps that’s what she was going for? Generally I love her pregnancy wardrobe, this just isn’t my fave. ☺

Is Heidi ever pregNANT! Wow. I would wonder if it was twins, but then the baby is probably very big. Her two older brothers were upwards of 9 lbs. at birth, if I recall correctly. I don’t know about Leni, though.

She looks radiant. It’s funny, though, just yesterday my grandmother and mom were commenting wistfully on the days when pregnant women wore loose fitting maternity clothing. I suspect my gram would flip if she saw me in something this tight when I get pregnant

I think she looks gorgeous! I know at the end of my second pregnancy I was huge, so the normal maternity wear made me look even bigger. I went for as much form fitting as possible. It made me feel good and not look quite so big.

She truly is beautiful but that dress makes her looks like a gothic mermaid. I like gothic, I even like mermaids, but together and on Heidi Klum..? Not so much. I did see a pic taken from another angle and that looked better.

When my husband saw her in the dress he thought she looked amazing – if anyone is looking for a male perspective I personally loved the look as well although I wonder if it would have been comfortable to wear something so tight at 8 1/2 months?

The dress is hideous, she doesn’t look good at all. I don’t know that any dress would have looked good with the way she’s carrying, which is sort of angled funny.

Everyone is plying her with compliments because the only weight she’s gained is in her stomach. That seem to be her genetic gift.

Heidi looks gorgeous! I love the dress. The mermaid style works brilliantly with her belly, even though I think it would have been difficult even for her to pull off if she hadn’t been pregnant, but right now she rocks it. I quite like that it looks like it has been painted on to her.
