The story was cute. The reactions on this site(as usual)are over the top not Halle’s. Halle said her back was turned. so it’s not surprising the lady didn’t know who she was.

I can’t believe some of you bitter Halle haters! Annie how racist! How the heck is halle correcting a woman bothering her baby being ghetto?? Halle is not close to being “ghetto”. Jenna your halle hate shine through every word in your posts. Wearing an evening gown on a late night talk show is not needed. Look her age. What does that even mean? If she was a stranger you couldn’t even tell she’s 43. She has the body for that dress & she looked great.

This story is so cute, but the woman appeared a bit rude. Who am I as a stranger to correct a baby for saying Mama when I don’t even know who her Mama is? That was funny! I thought Halle Berry looked cuter with longer hair. Apparently I forgot how Fierce and Bad she is with that short cut! That’s the Halle Berry we’ve all known for years–short hair! LOL

The woman was probably being playful andwasn’t trying to “correct” Nahla – and what if she was – so what. The odds are a million to one she’s talking to Halle Berry’s kid at the grocery store. I hope she was indeed exagerating the story because, frankly, I found her reaction rather rude. She’s such a beautiful woman but she acts too ghetto for me at times.

That just sounds b*tchy to me. There was no need for rudeness… it makes sense that you wouldn’t think that Halle Berry is really a little girl’s mom who is at the grocery store. That’s just too much attitude on her part. Not amused by her. It’s not a mom protecting her child or whatever. It’s just an actress acting too big for her britches.

I too think Halle looks great for her age and can pull off some of the trendier styles that many, even years younger, cannot.

But I also found her grocery store moment to be rather interesting, as I’m sure she didn’t mince words when confronting the woman behind her. I had my own Halle moment a few years back in a restaurant. Without going into detail, let me just say this woman is far from kindly when things are not to her liking. I felt the treatment given the waitstaff was highly unbecoming….and my opionion of her changed immediately. I can’t stand people who think they’re better than everyone else.

SweetDiva- I couldn’t agree more! Plenty of non-celebs wear sunglasses indoors from time to time, and usually it’s for a reason other than trying to be incognito.

I also agree with you about how Halle handled the sitaution. I mean, I don’t know too many parents who wouldn’t speak up if someone was correcting their baby (especially if, like in Halle’s case, it was an incorrect correction). Like other people have said, who corrects a BABY?

I’m not a big Halle fan…something about her rubs me the wrong way. BUT I can say that the woman has a bod that many 20somethings wish they had. And if I had a bod like hers I’d wear whatever I wanted at her age, as long as it wasn’t too revealing. And IMHO this outfit was ok – why can’t a woman in her 40s be proud of her body and show some leg and some boobage?

I wear sunglasses in stores just about all the time. I’m not trying to be incognito. I just dislike supermarket lighting. Why should Halle be grateful someone is teaching her child to doubt her own mind? If the child is right, she’s right. Some stranger shouldn’t be telling her not to trust her own eyes.

Why is it lame for Halle to go on her friend’s show? She’s an A-List actress and a good ratings draw for Leno. Let his show prove she’s not preggers. Why give that info to the paparazzi?

whatever, halle, get over yourself. who wears sunglasses in a store unless they’re trying to go incognito? but then to be so indignant to a total stranger who was just talking to the baby–not her? she should have been grateful that she wasn’t recognized or bothered by fans while out spending time with her daughter and let the conversation go.

“how could she have not known it was Nahla” I wouldn’t know Nahla if she was in my area. I look at this site for the cute stories and such. I couldn’t tell you one celeb’s kid from another honestly. The woman was kind of ditzy for getting so serious about it but I’m glad that Halle put her in her place! I love Halle and so what if she’s eaten a few too many burgers. Who hasn’t. It’s her life, let her live it.
