LaKisha Jones Welcomes Daughter Ava LaRynn

It’s another girl for LaKisha Jones! Taking to her Twitter account, the American Idol alum announced the birth of her daughter, Ava LaRynn Davis, with husband Larry Davis.

While LaKisha stayed mum on details surrounding the birth, the songstress couldn’t help but sing praise for baby girl’s highly anticipated — and overdue! — arrival.

“She was late but so worth the wait.”

Baby Ava joins 6 ½-year-old big sister Brionne, LaKisha’s daughter from a previous relationship, at home. According to the new mother-of-two, adjusting to life with a newborn once again is taking a bit of time! “At home getting back into baby mode, [it's] been 6 yrs,” she writes.

LaKisha and Larry will celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary next month. The pregnancy was confirmed in March, with LaKisha revealing baby-on-the-way was a second daughter in May.

I think its cute that LaRynn is similar to both LaKisha and her husband Larry’s names. Its like an homage to both of them, and it sound pretty. Cute name, nice flow.

I was taken back by Ava because is not common at all in the African-American community. My Ava is 6, and we haven’t come across another one who was AA. But have met a ton that were other racial and ethnic groups.
