Steal That Style: Zip It Up With Fall's Hottest Hoodies
![]() |
The early fall season can often be touch and go when it comes to dressing your children for the day. While a t-shirt may be perfect for the mid-day sun, waiting for the school bus in the morning or playing outside in the evening with bare arms just won’t do!
Fortunately, the go-to layering look for most parents has become a hit in the fashion world and with the cool fall nights upon us, more often than not, that top layer will be none other than a warm hoodie. Although younger kids may initially struggle with zip-up hoodies, many catch on quickly, at least when it comes to taking them off. Unlike the traditional sweatshirt, hoodies are a great option as kids can leave them unzipped to let air ventilate when they feel too warm.
We’ve spotted some of our favorite celebrity babies around town the past few weeks, all in full-swing for the crisp days of fall. Decked out in purple, Honor Marie Warren topped off her ensemble with a matching hoodie while out on a lunch date with mom Jessica Alba early last month; Keeping it casual, 14-month-old Levi Alves McConaughey wasn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves on the way to the beach with grandma in August; James Wilkie Broderick stayed warm and cozy in a bright red hoodie during his morning walk to school with mom Sarah Jessica Parker last week.

Ralph Lauren Baby Cotton Nautical Zip Hoodie |
Breaking Bank: The epitome of chic, we are loving Ralph Lauren Baby Cotton Nautical Zip Hoodie ($50) for little boys! While the striped, cotton ensemble certainly comes with a higher price tag, consider the look for a celebration out on the town or a cool night out on the boat.
For girls, we’ve got our eye on Lacoste Girl’s Striped Sweatshirt ($64). With alternating shades of pink stripes on the outside and pink polka dots on the inside, little girls are sure to love the style. The 100% cotton zip-up also has convenient double front pockets.
Roxy Print Infant Hoody |
Not Pinching Pennies: Princess meet punk rocker! Roxy Print Infant Hoody ($34) is a great style for little girls who enjoy their dose of pink, but are more than willing to skip the added frills. Sporting an artistic modern flower made up of paint droplets, the hoodie comes with kangaroo pockets and a fun black and white checkered inner lining in the hood.
Known for their sophisticated yet adorable style, babyGap doesn’t disappoint with their babyGap’s Rugby Striped Zip-Up Hoodie ($30). Perfect for chilly nights — the hoodie is lined with cozy fleece — we suggest layering the zip-up with one of their long sleeve shirts (try their Archo Logo Waffle-Knit T ($16.50)) for a great back-to-school look!
