Ashlee Simpson-Wentz: Bronx 'Cracks Himself Up All The Time'

Melrose Place star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz are clearly a fans of parenthood, but it appears as though their son — Bronx Mowgli, 9 ½ months — is his own biggest fan. “He cracks himself up all the time,” Ashlee reveals during today’s episode of The Rachael Ray Show. “Like, he’ll do something, and then he’ll start laughing.” Genetics may play a role, Ashlee concedes!

“It’s cute. It’s very entertaining. He’s like, ‘I am so funny!’ And he probably gets that from me because I make jokes that are not funny, and I’m the only one laughing.”

Bronx’s sense of humor and personality as a whole first emerged at around eight months, according to mom. “He’s very expressive,” Ashlee, 24, adds. “I can’t even do it, it’s like his dad…his facial expressions.” Already weighing in at a healthy 26 pounds, Bronx is also a physical force to be reckoned with! “He’s crawling now, and he’s standing up,” Ashlee shares. “Everyone loves him, and he definitely thinks the girls are pretty.” He’s also not afraid to make his feelings known.

“[Bronx] kind of gives them the eye. He’s flirting already! Yes, I’m in trouble!”

Why is it that people call babies who weigh over the 100th percentile “healthy”? I’ve never gotten that. My children have always been under the 10th percentile for weight so I guess that makes them sickly.

He’s a big boy! My daughter is a little peanut, so it’s always a shock when I hear how big some other babies are. I love Bronx though, he always looks so happy. Ashlee has been looking phenomenal lately, too.

Lorus:
Calling kids over the 100th percentile healthy is not an insult towards kids on the other end of the scale. My little guy is near the top of the scale, he is over 20 pds at 6 months. People call him healthy. I call him healthy but that has nothing to do with my friends’ baby who is in the 5th percentile. Nothing. I don’t think it’s better or worse. They are different kids. Both unique and special. And they are both healthy.
