Tisha Campbell-Martin Welcomes Son Ezekiel Czar

It’s a boy — a bit early! — for Tisha Campbell-Martin, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. The actress and husband Duane Martin welcomed son Ezekiel Czar Martin on Tuesday, September 8th at 10:20 a.m. in Los Angeles. The baby, who wasn’t due until the 21st of this month, weighed in at 9 lbs., 9 oz and is 23 inches long. Ezekiel joins big brother Xen, 8, at home.

“My baby is sooooo beautiful,” Tisha told ESSENCE.com. “He can’t fit newborn clothes; he’s wearing clothes for three month olds. His cheeks are so fat. He is so healthy. He is just perfect.”

Tisha, who announced the pregnancy in April, had no qualms about being pregnant at 40. “I’m enjoying it. I’m 40, and having a baby!” she told PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “Every moment, every nauseous moment, everything that is good and not so good about being pregnant, I’m enjoying.”

Tisha currently stars in Lifetime Television’s comedy series Rita Rocks, which returns for a second season on Monday, October 5th at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Congrats to Tisha and Duane on their blessed arrival! Wow! Almost 10 pounds and 23 in long — no wonder he’s early!! Talk about a bouncing baby boy! And I like the name too, they’re obviously fond of the “Z” sounding names. Xen, “Zeke” and “Czar” LOL!

I dig the name! I know a lot of people like to name their kids king and princess but I much prefer Regina(which means princess) and Czar which is the equivalent of a king in russia. Its a derives from the latin word Caesar. Love it~

Ha! My son’s name is Ezekiel. It means “God will strengthen” in Hebrew. It is pronounced “EEE-ZEE-KEE-YUL”. Cynthia Nixon’s son’s middle name is also Ezekiel, if I recall correctly. Awesome! Happy to have another Ezekiel!

I know how she feels! My oldest was born 2 weeks early and was 9 12!! My other two were born 2 weeks early and 9 5 and 8 10.

I love the name, Im a fan of Z names Zeke in paticular.

Big baby for an early baby. I was almost 9lbs and almost a month early, my dad was 10lbs so I would have been a big baby if I’d kept put for another few weeks.

Tisha is such a talented actress, I love her on My Wife and Kids. I really hope they do some sort of reunion because her and Damon together is hilarious. Plus they ended with Jay saying she was pregnant so it would be great to see them with a 4th.

Can I just say, I hope I dont sound mean here but how can you not know how Czar is pronounced? Didn’t you get history at school?

Tisha may have had health issues such as gestational diabetes that we are unaware of which would explain the baby’s large size even though he was early.

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe her dates were off? The EDD is ESTIMATED due date, they could have been off and she was actually on time, not early. Unless she had IVF or was charting she could have ovulated late or early and thrown the time off completely. Most doctors don’t listen to women that know their cycles and know they ovulated late (I’m speaking from experience) and go off of their LMP and that can really throw a due date off!

I like the name and it’s totally possible the due date was off. My nephew had an EDD of October 14th (which was then bumped up to October 5th) but my SIL ended up delivering him on September 25th. He was 9 lbs, 7 ounces and 21 inches long, too! So the EDD for him was definitely off. Yay for big babies! He also skipped over NB and went straight to 3 months.
