shaRRp/Splash News Online

Lola Rose Sheen, 4, tackles the monkey bars under the watchful eye of mom Denise Richards at Cross Creek Park in Malibu, Calif. on Sunday.

The girls started school today! Denise tweeted, “Sami starts kindergarten and lola is in preschool … drop off went good at school, my girls did better than me!! Charlie [Sheen] met us there which was very sweet, happy he came for their first day!”

Lola wears Ella Moss’ Galapagos Dress in Rose ($41).

Lola is adorable! Love her little dress.

I am so happy that they are being adults and co parenting for the girls sake…Everybody wins! Jon and Kate could learn something from these two!

Cortny, I don’t remember Denise and Charlie being very mature about it right after their break up either. Jon and Kate eventually will find a middle ground. They are both still torn up over the event. 10 years is a lot to just loose overnight.

I love Lola’s little dress! Congrats Sami and Lola for going to school!!! :)

Ohh I like what Denise is wearing.

I totally agree with you Jamime. These 2 were at each others throats in the begining it was awful. This new relationship has come over time it was not like Demi and Bruce who were friends straight away.

How precious. Lola is beautiful.

Sweet picture.
Denise looks fabulous. I wish I looked that great when I go to the park with my girls. I need to go shopping!!lol

Jaime- soooo true! Charlie and Denise were the WORST when it came to co-parenting at first. I think Denise is really strange. She just seems to have something missing in her brain. Cute girls, though.

Glad to hear that these girls’ parents are making an attempt to get along. It’s about time.

Glad Charlie and Denise could find some middle ground. Personally, I think Denise took alot of flack and unfair criticism, but it’s nice to see the girls have two parents who want to be there for them.

One thing I’ve always loved about Denise is how hands one she is. You never hear about a nanny with the girls, other than the one Charlie has, just Denise and her girls. She is always sharing their silly stories, just like a “normal” mom. She seems absolutely in love with her girls and enjoys doing silly girlie things with them.

Lola is beautiful (so is Sam!)~ I have always thought Denise was a great Mommy. I can tell that Sam and Lola cherish her greatly.

- Marissa on

I agree, Mary-Helen, that Denise has been unfairly attacked. I’m not personally a fan of hers, but Charlie has a reputation for being a pig toward women (like when he divorced Donna Peele and compared her to “a bad car. It breaks down, what are you gonna do?”) so the fact that Denise left him while she was pregnant, made me assume he was at least more at fault than her. Now Denise’s made some dumb decisions with men but she does seem devoted to her girls so I try to give her some slack even if she’s annoying. Some women just have bad taste in men and never learn. I really credit Brooke (Charlie’s 3rd wife) for the newfound calm between Denise and Charlie. Since she came on the scene, the fighting has subsided which is great for all five of Charlie’s kids.

I’m glad to hear that co-parenting seems to be going well for Charlie and Denise. As a 24 year old whose parents still cannot stand to be in the same room with one another, I can say that Sam and Lola will be appreciative later on in life that their parents were able to put aside their differences in order to successfully raise them.

Many celebrities are being spotted there lately! Denise Richards, Minnie Driver, Brooke Burke, Alessandra Ambrosio, etc. I remember for a time many celebrities were being seen at Coldwater Canyon Park in LA.

It’s cute photo, why didn’t you post one of Sam as well?

- Anna on

Although from personal experience I know it is not always easy nor possible for all divorced parents to get along, nothing earns my respect more than divorced parents who co parent. I am so glad Denise and Charlie have stepped up and come together to raise their daughters.

- Micheley on

Whatever happened in the past has happened I’m just happy that he was there for his kids on their first day of school. Parents sometimes need to realize that when they split up, they still have responsibilities towards their children and in making sure that they lead a ‘normal’ life and transition smoothly into whatever the future holds.

SO kudos for Charlie for showing up and supporting his childrens’ mother. The last image they had as they walked into school was of their parents.
