Super WHY! Toys from Learning Curve: Learning To Read Is Fun!

Hovering Why Flyer

Learning Curve has just released a whole line of toys based on the Super WHY! television series, which teaches preschoolers to read through story telling, letter games and role-playing fun.

My 4-year-old son, Finn loves Super WHY! and I let him watch it because it’s really engaging. He shouts out letters and plays along with the stories on TV.

All of the toys are $20 and under!

One of our favorites among the nine Super WHY! toys is the Hovering Why Flyer ($20). The hovercraft slides across hard floors with the help of an internal fan. Finn gives it a shove and it moves across the kitchen singing the Super WHY! song and saying familiar phrases like “Back to the book club!”

The Electronic Role Play Sets ($15) let preschoolers assume the role of their favorite Super WHY! characters. They include a cape and electronic Magic Spelling Wand that lights up and says phrases from the show. The Princess Presto set includes a jeweled tiara and the Super Why set includes a mask. My little Super Reader really looks the part!

Style and Pose Dolls

Wonder Red and Princess Presto Style and Pose Dolls ($11) have long, luxurious hair, shoes, a handbag, a cape and (of course) a hair brush. Even super-smart super heroines want their hair to look good!

My girls really love this show, I think it helps them learn to work with others and with people of different color.

My 1 1/2yr old niece loves Super WHY. She will sit for thirty minutes and watch this show. I love how it’s interactive and keeps her interested. We watch it every morning, when my sister drops her off in the morning, she looks at the tv to see what on, if it’s not on channel 8, she gets the remote and hands it to me so I can change the channel…

My niece loves this show, but am I the only one who thinks the eyes on the princess doll above are creepy??? :D

Yes Laurel! I told my oldest daughter the dolls eyes just seemed too big and made it look odd.

My youngest daughter is 22 mths and is really obsessed with this show! It is helping her learn her letters. She gets really excited when she hears the opening words. Thanks for the info on the toys…since both her birthday and Christmas are coming up fast, I have some shopping to do! :)
