Mustela Bebe: Works Wonders on Babies — and Moms!

Too busy with the baby for pampering?

Try out Mustela’s Bebe line of skin care products on yourself for a little pick-me-up.

Made in France, the hypoallergenic and alcohol-free products not only hydrate and protect the delicate skin of babies, but work wonders on overworked moms as well.

I especially like the PhysiObebe No Rinse Cleaning Fluid ($14.50/10 oz) with aloe vera, for removing make-up or stubborn dirt. It left my face feeling super clean, yet moist and fresh.

In addition to the bottles of the cleanser, Mustela also sells Facial Cleansing Cloths with PhysiOBebe ($7.50/25 wipes), which can be used for cleaning the faces of both mom and baby, or for a quick sponge bath for infants.

I also like the Hydra Bebe Body Lotion ($14/10 oz), made with Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter because of its non-greasy, absorbent consistency. And the signature Mustela scent — a subtle, light fragrance —  helps me feel somewhat pulled together after a sleepless night of feeding my newborn.

But it’s not just moms who’ve discovered a double use for the baby products. The head make-up artist for Gossip Girl, Amy Tagliamonti,  often applies the Bebe Body lotion on the show’s star Leighton Meester. The lotion, Amy says, “makes skin glow.”

I love it! They also have it at Bath and Body Works and a little bit of product goes a longggggggg way on a baby body :-D

I always puts some on my 3 yr old son’s cheeks & neck, it smells SO good!

I have never used this line, but I’ve always wanted to. I smelled it once and thought it was awesome! My kids are 9 and 11. Do you think they’re too old for it? Both my kids have sensitive skin and I think some of the adult soaps are too harsh.

Mustela is the best. I love the way my kids (and my hands/arms/bathroom) smell after giving them a bath! Drugstore.com just had a BOGO deal on their products last month. I stocked up big time!

These are wonderful products. The diaper rash cream is THE BEST! We also use the 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash, the facial cleansing cloths, and when our son was an infant, the foaming shampoo for super sensitive skin. All outstanding.

Sarah, I say give it a try! I often use the 2 in 1 myself. It’s good for people of all ages who have sensitive skin. Your kids will smell heavenly!

FYI: Sniff the different products before you buy. Not all the washes and lotions are the same scent. So depending on your taste you might choose one product over another. Recently the shop that carries the Mustela was out of the 2 in 1. They suggested I try this other Mustela body wash that was “the same” but it wasn’t! I had to return it. It smelled nothing like the 2 in 1 I love so much.

My mother-in-law introduced me to Mustela after the birth of my daughter and I LOVE it-it smells soooo good!

How cool to have this on CBB!! I’m French and I remember my grandmother putting it on me every day :) It’s old stuff, and it’s good stuff.

I agree with all of you that Mustela is the best smelling baby lotion and soap on the market…but I still would never bring myself to us it on my three children due to their high hazardous levels. I always visit skindeep.ewg.org prior to purchasing products my family would apply to our bodies. It’s a not-for-profit site that dissects each product and their ingredients. Unfortunately, Mustela has some bad stuff in it. Here’s more on the Mustela findings: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/wordsearch.php?query=mustela. And here’s more on Skin Deep in general: http://uggamugga.blogspot.com/2008/03/skin-deep.html

looks like its almost equally as “bad” as baby magic. my mom used that on me and I’m still alive and kicking!

@hkdiaz, although I’m sure you were being sarcastic, I think the site UggaMugga mentioned is to ward off cancers and other diseases that toxins through skin contact can cause and these are things you most likely wouldn’t be aware of now.

I think we all know notice more and more people having cancer. And I think we all assume that chemicals added to products and prepackaged food for convenience in our fast paced world must have at least something to do with it. And if you can do something to prevent ANYTHING in your child, wouldn’t you want to? Why take a chance? For him or her to smell good?

Thank you UggaMugga for bringing the site to my attention. I’ll be using it from now on.

Thank you, UggaMugga, for the links. Enlightening, and I am rethinking some of my consumer choices.

I love their Foaming Shampoo for Newborns. It cleared my daughter’s cradle cap after 3 washes.
