As as kid I had to find courage to deal with my mother’s bipolar disorder. I often felt I was the mature one (even among the adult family members) who had to take action to keep things bearable at home and I often felt all alone as a result. At age 12 I sought and got help. I learned how to cope and not internalize something that was totally out of my control. My point here is no one really hears how bad it is for the kids.
