This is not a room based in reality for a child to play in. Any parent knows this place would be destroyed in no time.

This Ali really overdoes everything she does. I mean the kid is ALWAYS in dresses, everything is decorated to the extreme.. this is more for her and wanting to show off than it is for her daughter.

It’s such a trend now for moms to try to stay away from pink or anything decidedly feminine…just because moms themselves may not be “frilly” types- which is fine for adults, but it’s childhood, and what little girl doesn’t like frilly,princess-y things even for a stage?

In any case, I love this room. So sweet. And it looks like that by removing and replacing a few things like the ruffled footstool and chair or the wall letters (when she’s older), this room could easily work for years to come- it’s not overly baby-ish.

Plus, at 21, Estela probably won’t even be living at home anymore. :)

I did my girls room and bought clothes and gifts from baby showers all before she was here. As they get older, many mothers still decorate the rooms themselves, some add the tastes of their childrens likes. estella may love dresses! My daughter takes off her clothes and always wants the frilliest dresses on ! Especially her Halloween princess outfit. I have added things to her room that she loves like Disneys Arielle stuff, but again it could be from my influence because I put it on the TV. Were all products of our environments. I loved my mothers music the Beatles from hearing it growing up. This room is awesome, and its clean for the picture- I even clean backgrounds of my pictures, but i think it looks very fun. there are 2 baskets just like my playroom, we dump everything out of it to play and its all scattered then fill it back up! theres a table with chairs to do art and look at books, just like mine.
