Brad Pitt is Proud to Provide His Brood With a 'World View'

Limelight

After traveling across the globe with his partner Angelina Jolie and their six children — Maddox Chivan, 8, Pax Thien, 5 ½, Zahara Marley, 4 ½, Shiloh Nouvel, 3, and fraternal 1-year-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon — actor Brad Pitt tells the Times Online that their experiences are priceless. “Everywhere is interesting in its own way, each place has its own feel and something to offer: you pick up something, the kids pick up something,” he explains.

“They have this world view which we are very proud and happy that we are able to provide.”

Constantly gracing the covers of countless magazines, Brad admits both he and Angelina see “no point” in browsing through the stories. However, the same can’t be said for the couple’s children, who have slowly grown accustomed to their parents’ celebrity status. “We’re still trying to negotiate how we explain to them what we do,” he shares.

“It’s not strange to them that their parents will come on television. And it’s not strange for them to walk outside and for there to be a photographer. They just think if there is printed material hanging around, their parents might be on the cover.”

While escaping the glitz and glamor — and the paparazzi! — is far from easy, Brad reveals that the family has managed to dodge the spotlight more than once. “Oh, we get peace in our lives,” he says. “We’re pretty good at it. You carve out that time for the family.” That said, while their vacations offer a temporary respite from fame, as the 45-year-old actor jokes, they have yet to include much tranquility.

“Do we get a little silence with the kids? No, not that kind of silence — silence is over at home, but we like that chaos…”

Steal That Style: Bluebell and Rain Hitch a Ride

Celebrity Baby Blog – Steal That Style

Transitioning from babyhood to toddlerhood is no easy feat. Among potty training, bottle weaning and beginning preschool, children also tend to change their taste in toys, with many graduating from their ride-on cars to the toddler-friendly tricycle. That said, while independence is generally encouraged, occasionally a little help — or push! — from mom and dad goes a long way!

In addition to parents having the ability to semi-steer with a push trike, the consistent motion of the turning pedals also assists kids in understanding the connection between their feet and the forward motion. An added bonus? For those little legs that are low in muscle tone, a push tricycle is a great — and fun! — tool to strengthen their lower limbs.

When Geri Halliwell stepped out last week in London with 3-year-old Bluebell Madonna, they made quite the determined-looking duo! The former Spice Girls songstress helped her daughter maneuver her way down the sidewalk with ease. For Superstars’ David Charvet, the Kettler Junior Tricyle with Pushbar ($87) was a great way for him to take a leisurely stroll with Heaven Rain, 2 ½, in Malibu. With the hot sun shining, Rain was likely grateful for the extra push!

Other celebrity kids who have been spotted out riding their push trikes? We saw Kingston James McGregor last fall on his Radio Flyer Steer and Stroll Deluxe Trike and more recently, Poet Sienna Rose, who opted to go sans the handle and instead hauled younger sister Jagger Joseph Blue around the park.

Taye Diggs Is Ready to Meet His Baby Boy

Adrian Varnedoe/Pacific Coast News

Eagerly awaiting the birth of their son early next month, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel have picked out just about everything he is going to need – except a name.

“We have a spot in New York and one [in Los Angeles],” the Private Practice star told PEOPLE during a recent visit to the show’s set. “[Idina] has both nurseries done. She did them herself, painted them, and today she’s putting together a bassinet. We’ve picked out our doula. My wife is so on it!”

The pair, who celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in January, are holding off on naming their baby, who is due on Sept. 6. “We have a couple [names] in the running,” Taye, 38, shares. “But part of us wants to see what he hits us with when we see him. We’ll see what he looks like.”

The actor adds that having talked parenthood with so many friends, he’s eager to experience it for himself. “Everyone keeps telling me how amazing it’s going to be. Once the birth happens, everything is going to change on every level,” he says. “I’m very excited.”

Nicole Richie’s Maternity Line for A Pea in the Pod

Courtesy A Pea in the Pod

Nicole Richie is known as known for her boho-chic style as she is for Hollywood pedigree — and with fans like Madonna wearing her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection, her design career couldn’t be hotter.

Pregnant with her second child (daughter Harlow Winter Kate is 18 months old), the star has signed on to create — and model — a line of maternity clothes with her signature flair for A Pea in the Pod.

Nicole talked to PEOPLE exclusively about the new line, explaining that the collaboration works because “Pea in the Pod is such a known company for pregnant women. They carry great lines, and so when they asked me to create a line for them, I was really excited and eager to do it.”

And being pregnant herself means that Nicole is especially considerate of her customers. “You really feel like you have to change your whole wardrobe. And that’s the last thing a woman wants to go through. So I really tried to make this line to get women excited about wearing clothes.”

While Nicole admits she doesn’t always wear maternity clothes, she definitely thinks the pregnant form should be flaunted! “I think the pregnant body is beautiful, and I think you should show it off,” citing her jean cutoffs as a go-to this pregnancy.

As for what to expect in the line, think peasant tops, layering tees, flowing maxidress and braided details. Nicole may have some time left until she has her second child, but says of her newest design collection making its debut, “It feels great to see everything come to life. It’s the best feeling in the world to have your visions and dreams coming together. I’m so excited for people to see them. I just hope that people like it.”

“Nicole,” an exclusive collection for A Pea in the Pod stores on Friday, with prices ranging from $48 for tank tops to $148 to maxidresses.
