Jeff Gordon's Littlest Cheerleader: Daughter Ella!

The Media Circuit/INF

NASCAR star Jeff Gordon’s daughter Ella Sofia, who turned two in June, isn’t sure what her daddy does at the track, but she recognizes that his work involves sitting behind the wheel.

“She knows that I have a race car for work and when she sees [one] at the track she says, ‘Go papa go!’” Jeff, 38, told Celebrity Baby Blog late last week at The Glen in Watkins Glen, NY, where he was preparing to race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Ella planned to be on the sidelines “cheering him on” during Monday’s race, after being rained out Sunday.

Jeff and model/actress wife Ingrid Vandebosch celebrated both his and Ella’s summer birthdays by spending relaxing days with the family, just enjoying being together, he says.

For Ella’s birthday, Jeff was racing in California so the trio enjoyed a cake and baby cookies at the resort where they were staying rather than throw a party at home.

“Ella loved the chocolate mice that went along with it,” Jeff tells PEOPLE. “For my birthday earlier this week, the three of us spent a quiet day together in the Hamptons. Ella is a miracle and has changed my life. I love doing things with her.”

The race car driver likes to take his daughter to parks, museums, kids classes, Gymboree and other family places, and has also enrolled Ella in day camp this summer — to positive results.

“I am still awaiting her terrible twos behavior,” Jeff reports. So far any transition has been mild, he says, although he sees more of her personality now, and negotiations to get her to do things are bit more difficult.

“When it is time to eat, time to nap, or time to stop playing, we have to nudge her a little harder but she is such a doll, I can’t really call it a major change in behavior,” explains Jeff. “When I wake up in the morning and experience her energy, she lights up the room, and I lose sight of everything else in my life.”

Heidi Klum Says She and Seal Are 'Not Into Pink and Blue'

GSI Media

After a hectic summer shooting the seventh season of Project Runway, Heidi Klum is ready to spend the remainder of her pregnancy preparing for her fourth child, a girl due in mid-October. “We’re going to go on a holiday for a few weeks,” she tells the Los Angeles Times of her family plans. Once the brood returns home, the expectant model admits she will most likely resort to full nesting mode, organizing her newborn essentials for the big day. “When you’re close to the end — I wanna rearrange the whole house!” she laughs.

Fortunately, not much decision-making is needed when it comes to the nursery; Heidi reveals that her children always sleep in her and husband Seal‘s bedroom for the first year. “I just need a crib and a changing table,” she says. As for the rest of her baby girl’s gear, Heidi will be looking through the items she used for her daughter Leni, 5, and sons Henry, 3 ½, and Johan, 2 ½.

“To be honest, most of the things for the kids are hand-me-downs. There’s a piece Leni had, I took it from her. This piece used to belong to Henry. I was like, ‘You’re going to get something pink, you’ll be fine!’ And we’re not into pink and blue.”

As she finalizes her arrangements and looks forward to the delivery, the 36-year-old will be able to gather her thoughts next month. “In September, they’re all in school!” the proud mama boasts. According to Heidi, if the initial testing of the children is a glimpse into the future, the transition into the classroom will be a smooth one. “You sit in another room and they get evaluated, and Johan did all the puzzles. He impressed them.”

Heidi has made it clear that the family will be complete with the addition of baby girl, but jokes that her tattoo — made up of Seal’s name with three little initialed stars to represent each of their children — has plenty of room for expansion! “See, I planned ahead,” she slyly notes before adding, “But the fourth will be the last one.”

The latest season of Project Runway premieres August 20th at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

Flutter Wing Disney Fairies Dolls: Posable Dolls For Tinkerbell Fans

If your little girl is a fan of the Disney Fairies, check out these new 5″ Flutter Wing Disney Fairies dolls ($9.50-$13) available at Disney Stores and DisneyStore.com.

Choose from Tinker Bell, Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn and Iridessa, all of whom are fully posable and come with a flower-shaped stand that Anya thinks is an umbrella.

Unfortunately, the feature that they’re named for — “Flutter Wing” — is their weakest. When you press a button on their backs, their wings “flutter” but just ever so slightly. They’re still really cute and a new favorite of my Fairy-obsessed child.

Anya says her favorite is Iridessa (voiced by Raven-Symoné) but it used to be Silvermist (voiced by Lucy Liu). Personally, I was hoping for a Vidia doll who is kind of my favorite because she’s mean without being evil, a rare thing in Disney movies.

– Danielle, suburban NJ mom to extremely girly-girl Anya, 3 ½, with a baby boy due Thanksgiving 09, believes that it’s worth investing in good gear

Top Chef Judges Offer High Praise for New Dad Tom Colicchio

NBC

The results are in: Top Chef judges Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons have nothing but praise for fellow judge – and proud new papa – Tom Colicchio.

“I think he’s a great dad,” Padma tells PEOPLE of Tom, who welcomed his second son Luka Bodhi on August 1st.

As for Gail, their friendship – which extends beyond the hit show – has allowed her to witness Tom’s parenting skills. In fact, she was on hand at the hospital with the chef and wife Lori Silverbush the day of baby Luka’s arrival.

“Tom and I knew each other long before the show and I know his older son [Dante, 16,] quite well,” she says. “I think he’s an awesome dad. I’m just so excited that he’s reliving it again. He loves kids and he loves his family.”

While the introduction of solids is still a few months away for Luka, both Padma and Gail agree that baby boy will, without a doubt, be exposed to only the finest foods.

“He cooks for them. I’m not sure what they have planned, but whatever that kid eats he’ll be well fed,” notes Gail, before joking she certainly “wouldn’t mind being Tom Colicchio’s kid!”
