Oksana Grigorieva Says Son is 'Looking Forward' to Big Brotherhood

Gary Lewis/Retna

In a new interview with CNN, Oksana Grigorieva reveals that the baby she expects in late fall with boyfriend Mel Gibson will be a delivery surprise. “I’m already buying things in gender-neutral colors,” the 39-year-old songstress shares. “It’s very cute.”

Equally excited is Oksana’s 12-year-old son Alexander, from a previous relationship with actor Timothy Dalton. Although the age difference between her children will be sizable, it presents its fair share of benefits as well. Notes Oksana,

“He’s like a little man, protecting me. He’s looking forward to it very much.”

Oksana and Mel’s baby-on-the-way will join Mel’s seven children with estranged wife Robyn. Songs from Oksana’s new album Beautiful Heartache are available here.

Campbell Brown: 'It's Not Possible' to Do It All

Amy Sussman/Getty

While moderating the 2008 Presidential Debate in Austin for CNN, Campbell Brown was the very definition of calm, cool and collected. “It was a lifetime dream for me coming true,” the 41-year-old television journalist recently noted during an appearance on Julie Menin‘s Give and Take talk show. Little did Campbell know, however, that just hours after the debate she would suffer her first real meltdown of new motherhood.

Having welcomed her first child two months before, Campbell had been shipping her breastmilk back to New York — but disaster was about to strike. “There was a snowstorm or something and the FedEx flight was delayed. The milk didn’t make it and my husband had to give the baby a bottle of formula,” she recalls. “I was crying, literally, in the airport.”

“I couldn’t believe that something had fallen through the crack. I hadn’t thought of every possible scenario to cover myself and, ugh, the baby was going to get a bottle of formula. I just stopped for a minute and I thought, ‘I’m losing my mind. Stop obsessing over this stuff or you’re going to make yourself crazy.’”

Campbell — whose best piece of parenting advice is to keep a sense of humor — says her mood was instantly lightened. “I went from sitting in the airport crying, where I’m sure people were walking by thinking, ‘Who is this crazy woman?’ to laughing out loud at myself at how ridiculous I had become in trying to do it all,” she says. “It ain’t happening; it’s never going to happen; it’s not possible.” Now that she’s a mom of two, Campbell says she’s learned to relax — as well as learned to accept that “there’s no such thing as balance.”

“It’s so much easier and so much more fun. Because you finally do realize that you can’t do it all. Formula is fine. And sometimes the baby is going to have a wet diaper a few seconds longer because your conference call went long and that’s okay. Everyone is okay in the end.”

Her new mindset has been liberating on all fronts. “Once you sort of get to that point I think you enjoy your children more, you enjoy your job more, and I’m getting closer to that point which is fun,” she says. “It’s chaos, I’ll be honest. I’m sleep-deprived. But it’s also the greatest thing that ever happened to me, so I can’t really complain.”

That said, Campbell admits that as a mom she “always feels a little bit inadequate,” and that she still struggles with fears that she’s “not getting it done, whether it’s at home or at work.” While her “heart aches” each day when she says goodbye and heads to work, once she arrives at the office Campbell is able to “get focused and move on.” Not for long! “They enter my brain and I feel like I’m not focusing enough on what I should be doing at work” she concedes. “You go through this constantly. Balance does not exist. Who made up that word?”

Campbell is mom to Eli James, 19 months, and Asher Liam, 4 months, with husband Dan Senor.

Brandon Flowers Welcomes Son Gunnar

Robert Pitts/Landov

Is there room for one more son? Let’s hope so! The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers and wife Tana welcomed their second child on Tuesday, July 28th, a baby boy named Gunnar Flowers.

“Both baby and parents are healthy and happy,” Killers’ rep Jen Appel tells PEOPLE.

Speaking to the Kramp and Adler radio show shortly before taking the stage on Sunday at Lollapalooza in Chicago, the 28-year-old singer-songwriter confirmed the happy news. Brandon went on to note the difficulties presented by his distinctive last name.

“[Gunnar] is a tough name. I had to have something that combats against the Flowers.”

Baby boy joins big brother Ammon, 2, at home in Las Vegas. The pregnancy was announced in May.

Gabby Reece Relays a Lesson of True Beauty To Her Girls

Chelsea Lauren/WireImage

Some women find self-gratification through their ability to walk the fine line between their career and their family simultaneously, but for Gabrielle Reece, the obvious imbalance in her life is most rewarding!

“The better you are as a parent, the crappier you are at work,” she tells Pint Size Social. “I want to have a killer career, but not at the sake of my kids.” Although she is fully willing to dedicate herself to her job, the model and former volleyball star ensures her commitments don’t come at a price.

“I work as hard as I can as long as it is not impeding on my time with the children. It is a healthy balance. But I also know that I’m  lucky and have a luxury most people don’t. If I am on a photo shoot, I can bring my kids to work.”

While that fortunate lifestyle gives both her and surfer husband Laird Hamilton the ability to more than provide for their girls, Gabby reserves splurges for special occasions. “For something really special, I love Bonpoint, but mostly, Old Navy,” she shares. “I think it is ridiculous to spend so much on one item that kids will quickly grow out of.” That said, Gabby is not oblivious to her daughters’ tastes, and admits she does occasionally cave in — but not without a lesson first!

“I have three girls and completely understand liking pretty things, but always tell them a dress is not what makes you pretty. Who you are and how you act does.”

For the family who loves spending time together at the beach, the great life lessons don’t end with their morning wardrobe changes; The 39-year-old hopes her children will grow up appreciating the loving environment in which they were raised. “[I hope they remember] that they were loved and could always count on us,” says Gabby. “Knowing that they felt safe and that we were ‘there.’”

Reece Viola, 5 ½, and Brody Jo, 19 months, are Gabby’s daughters with Laird, who also has daughter Izabela, 14, from a previous relationship.
