Milla Jovovich Makes Memories for Ever

WENN

Some opportunities are too good to pass up! Milla Jovovich recently encountered exactly that while filming the upcoming flick Stone with legendary actor Robert DeNiro, himself a father of four.

“I have the best picture of him holding my screaming daughter [Ever Gabo, 21 months],” she dishes to the BBC. “I said, ‘Listen Bob. She’s gonna hate you. She’s gonna scream. Just grip her tightly so she doesn’t fall.’”

“I said, ‘I’m gonna take the picture, it will be done, and she’ll love it in 15 years.’ He just said, ‘It’s fine’…He’s such a sweet man and such a kind person.”

The film is one of several Milla hopes to make over the next few years, while Ever is young. “I feel like when she starts school and stuff, I definitely want to be there for her,” Milla explains. “I’m going to … work as much as I can [now] and, you know, have another baby and slow down and be a mom.”

“I guess I’m just … looking forward to watching my daughter grow up, and talking to her…hearing what her questions are, and finding out more and more who she is.”

What she means to Milla is already established, however. “She’s the center of my world,” the 33-year-old actress proclaims. “That’s the most exciting thing in my life right now, is watching her grow.”

Ever is the first child for Milla and fiancé Paul W.S. Anderson, whom she will marry this evening.

Heidi Klum: The Bigger the Better at Upcoming Emmy Awards

GSI Media

When Heidi Klum successfully parlayed her career as a model into the role of Project Runway host, her name became synonymous with fashion. So when the 36-year-old mom-of-three walks the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 20 — where the Lifetime reality show is nominated for four awards — all eyes will be on her…and her bump!

Currently expecting her fourth child, a girl, Heidi reveals in a new interview that she won’t be wearing a gown designed by a Project Runway contestant, however. “I already have someone who I had my eye peeled on, and that is Marchesa,” she says, explaining that she’s asked one of the label’s designers, Georgina Chapman, to create her a custom frock. “And that’s quite a challenge, too, to design something for someone who is growing,” she notes.

“I’m already quite big, and in two months’ time, I will be even bigger. She already said, “Well, what do you think? How big are you gonna be in two months?” And I’m like, ‘I don’t know — make it work! [Laughs] Add a little bit more fabric here, make it stretchier there and make it bigger.”

If she has any advice for the Marchesa team of Georgina and Keren Craig, Heidi says to err on the side of caution! “We can always take it in … the other way around will get hard.”

Although the big night will involve a recognition of her work on television, Heidi says she’s rarely a viewer. “I never find the time,” she admits. “I want to do things with my family.”

“When I work, I work, and when I’m at home, I’m at home, and I don’t really watch that much television. Most of the time, we put movies on for the kids so that they don’t have to watch too many commercials.”

Heidi and husband Seal are parents to Leni, 5, Henry, 3 ½, and Johan, 2 ½. Their baby-on-the-way is due in mid-October.

Taking a break from his Defying Gravity tour, Keith Urban stops off at home in Nashville, Tenn., where he stepped out with wife Nicole Kidman and their daughter Sunday Rose, 13 months.

“There’s a certain balance that I’ve got to have in my life,” Keith explains. “My family is extremely important to me. Playing live is important to me too. So how do I balance the two? We structured the tour so I fly to the first date, then bus it to the next couple shows.”

Art Imitates Life for John Leguizamo

Michael Loccisano/Getty

If you caught John Leguizamo‘s Tony-nominated solo show Sexaholix, you may have learned about his relationship with his kids Allegra Sky, 10, and Ryder Lee, 9, and how he handled the adjustment when they were born. One of the scenes in the show, which was on Broadway in 2001-2002, was derived from an instance wife Justine Maurer knew that John needed one and one bonding time with the kids, so she left them home alone together.

“[My wife] was smart enough to know that I needed to bond [with the baby] and the best way to bond is to just be with the kids, and do the diapering, do all that stuff and be with them… It’s true,” he says. “There’s no bonding like when you actually have to do things with them.” John wasn’t about to try to get out of diapering duties either because “you don’t have that luxury anymore.”

“Guys gotta do sh-t that women used to do, and it’s good. I see a lot of dads feeding those babies at the park, with the bottle. It’s tougher for us, it’s tougher for the dudes. But in the end, you do get closer to your kids.”

John, 45, jokes that when Allegra arrived, “I looked her in the eyes and said ‘I’m going to screw you up in ways you can’t even imagine,’” a line showcased in Sexaholix. “You know we’re gonna f-ck ‘em up somehow. I already know. And I’m so guilt-ridden about that. I read tons of books about parenting, about siblings. I’m so obsessed with doing it the right way. But I still catch myself doing crazy things. Doing things my parents did,” shares John. The actor did not initially read parenting books but started when the kids began to get older.

“I knew I was raised in a f-cked-up way, so I didn’t want to be the one that contributed the worst to my kids. It’s more of a competition with my wife. Who’s gonna be the one to pass on their f-cked up-ed-ness to their kids?”

Getting serious, John says that “nothing prepared” him for parenthood and how much he would enjoy it. “I never knew that I could love something outside of myself so much like I love my kids,” he explains. “The amount of pain and suffering that comes with that. I used to live such a carefree life!”

Fatherhood “makes you care about the world in a way that I never did before,” notes the actor and comedian. “It’s interesting how that love for your kids just bleeds out into so many other things.”

The Name Game: K or C?

Upon announcing her first pregnancy, many wondered if Kourtney Kardashian would continue her family tradition of using only names which start with ‘K.’ While sister Kim Kardashian has an established ‘K’ name, sisters Khloe Kardashian and even Kourtney herself have names that traditionally begin with the letter ‘C.’ On that point, the Kardashian’s may be ahead of the curve. So says nameberry.com co-founder Pamela Redmond Satran, who tells Celebrity Baby Blog,

“Many parents today are putting a modern spin on classic names by changing the C initial to a K…or sometimes back again.”

In fact, the name Khloe is “one of the fastest rising names this year,” according to Pam. Boys are getting in on the act too. Patrick Wilson recently named his newborn son Kassian; The classic spelling, however, is Cassian — an ancient Latin clan name and also an Irish saint’s name that means “curly-headed.” Other celebrity babies with an interchangeable C-K initial include Kevin Costner‘s son Cayden Wyatt, and Angie Everhart‘s new baby boy Kayden Bobby. A modern, invented name in various forms, this name is popular in both the C and K versions, with Caden at #95 on the popularity list, Kaden at #99, Kayden at #152 and Cayden at #173.

The ‘Cadence’ envelope was definitely pushed by Tony Hawk, dad to Kadence Clover, and T Pain, dad to Kaydnz Kodah. And although Kieran — an Irish name meaning “little dark one” — has been popular for years (having been chosen by Julianna Margulies with son Kieran Lindsay and Kelly Williams with son Kiran)  it can also be spelled Ciaran, Pamela notes. Last but not least, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas opted for Carys with their daughter; A Welsh name meaning love, the couple’s spelling is classic, but the name is also occasionally spelled Kerys or Keris.

Other interchangeable C-K names singled out by Pamela include Caitlin/Katelyn, Cate/Kate, Caleb/Kaleb, Camden/Kamden, Christian/Kristian, Cian/Kian and Cody/Kody. If you find yourself debating a C-K switch for your baby-on-the-way, Pamela says that your personal style will likely come into play. “While the names are pronounced the same no matter what the initial,” she explains, “K in general has a more modern feel while C seems more traditional.”

In addition to her work with nameberry.com, Pamela has co-authored ten baby-naming books with Linda Rosenkrantz. Their newest title, Beyond Ava & Aiden, is available now.
