Britney Spears and Boys in the Big Apple

08/25/2009 at 11:00 AM ET

After taking in the Broadway musical The Little Mermaid the night before, Britney Spears snuggles into the backseat of a pedicab with her boys, Sean Preston, 3 ½, and Jayden James, 2 ½ — and their dinosaurs! — for a tour through New York’s Central Park on Monday.

The popstar, 27, is currently in the Big Apple as she headlines a three-night stint at Madison Square Garden.

I love the boys’ new haircuts!

merry on

Boys look soo big after those new haircuts.

mel on

Happy to see Britney spending so much time with her boys. I’m glad she was given a second chance to be a mom again cause there’s nothing like receiving unconditional love from your children.

Jess on

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, I miss their hair! Jayden favors Britney so much.

Nates mummy on

OMG little men!!! theyve grown so much!!

(their dinosaurs are from The Early Learning Centre in the U.K!!! :D)

Chelsea on

I don’t miss the old hair! I think these buzz cuts look so much cuter!

missloUiSiAna on

So darlin’!! I’m lovin their new haircuts!! (sexy manny btw lol)

melissa on

ok i love the picture.. they all look so happy, but i hate to break it to em.. they are not 21/2 or 31/2..try 3 and 4, in what 2 or 3 weeks?? and boy do they look handsome!! love the hair cuts!

Andrea_momof2 on

Jess that’s a good way to say it. Jayden favors HER, not the other way around. It gets tiring to hear it again and again.

Thrifty Sisters Coupon Clipping Service on

They looks so darn cute with their new buzz cuts!!

daze on

i miss jayden old hair! he was like an angel (well he’s still). Short hair look better on Preston.
and i noticed the boys always carry animal stuff with them. a few weeks back it was dolphin and shark, then lions and now dinosaurs! they sure love it.
it’s nice to see that britney is now trying to have fun outings with them, even if i think she can not go out with them as much as she wants because of the papz! the videos of that outing are like crazy :(

and i wonder if there’s recent pictures of the boys with their father?
we don’t see that much of kevin with them, so i hope it’s because they have privacy and not because he doesn’t spend time with them. last time i saw him it was at an airport where two nannies take care of the kids while kevin and his gf walk behind like they were not even with them.

Sam on

Oooooops, she did it again. Just stating a fact. :)

Anne on

Handsome little boys.

Bancie1031 on

Awe love seeing Britney with her boys. Seems like she fulfills their days with a lot of interesting activities.

Hea on

They are so beautiful. Jayden is such a mama’s boy. :-)

“I’m glad she was given a second chance to be a mom again cause there’s nothing like receiving unconditional love from your children.”

I would think the advantage of her getting a second chance would be so she could give unconditional love to the children, not the other way around. It’s not a child’s job to give anything to their parents – it’s a parents job to give to the child. I find it disturbing how many people have framed this situation in terms of what’s good for Britney. She’s an adult, what’s good for her is irrelevant, what’s good for the kids are what matters.

On a side note: I wish she would run a comb through her hair now and then. She can actually be a decent looking person when she makes an effort, it’s sad that she makes an effort so rarely.

Shea on

@Jess… When their hair was long they looked more alike, but with their hair cute it is very clear that Jayden does favor Britt the most and Preston looks more like Kevin.

mrswilliams on

KateRose:

oh give it rest, i new someone would start something like this….leave her alone, she loves her boys its clear to any one with eyes, even when she was ill yes she made bad choices but she still loved them, she just needed time to deal with her issues **which were medical!!** so she could become the mother she needed and wanted to be, have you ever sufferd from any of the same things as her…no than you can’t comment , she is doing the best she can, being a mother is not about being perfect its about doing the best you can.

and as for her hair….again give it a rest, does britney care what you think….i’m guessing no, she looks lovely as she is,she like all other mothers**and woman** do not have to pander to other who like to tell us we should look a certain way, if she was done up i am sure you would be moaning how silly she looked all dolled up sat with her children, #

i really wish for once people would just give the girl a break..just once, no catty comments with people going on ‘i’m allowed to write my opinion like every one else’ when really all it is , is judgemental people with nothing NICE to say…so much for us mum sticking togther.

daniela on

I have to admit, although I prefer short hair on boys, Jayden looked better with longer hair. Maybe his hair should be on the longer side (but shorter than it was before). Preston however, looks too cute with the buzz cut! It definitely fits him to a T. :)

KateRose on

“oh give it rest, i new someone would start something like this….leave her alone, she loves her boys its clear to any one with eyes, even when she was ill yes she made bad choices but she still loved them,”

No, I don’t have to give it a rest. I don’t need your permission to post my opinion. And it’s obvious that you didn’t actually read my comment all the way through before getting instantly defensive and responding in an incredibly rude way. Because I did not insult Britney as a mother – my issue was with another poster who said the advantage of Britney getting a second chance was so she could get unconditional love from the kids. I pointed out that the advantage was so the kids could get unconditional love from her. So if you would stop being defensive for five seconds and look at what I actually wrote you would see that I was saying it was good for the boys to have her in their life. So why don’t you take a chill pill and stop jumping all over people for things they didn’t even say in the first place.

Alex on

Each to their own, but I really can’t stand the skinhead type cuts on kids. This extends to very short shaved styles like the Spears boys. IMO it just looks bad, no matter the child it’s on. These boys are cute as anything, but I miss their long hair!

Candace on

CUTE haircuts!!!!

Mary-Helen on

They look so cute with their little buzz cuts.

I think the reason they aren’t photographed with Kevin as much is because there isn’t as much $$$ in K-fed photos as there is with Britney. I mean, the paps want pics of Britney, kids or no kids and there just isn’t a market for Kevin, which is probably a blessing in disguise seeing as he is the primary caregiver. It gives them some privacy. I know Britney sees them alot, but this will likely prevent the media scrum @ their preschool and such.

mel on

@mrswilliams
I wasnt trying to say anything bad about Britney and I dont have to justify anything to you. People can have their say whether itz good or bad. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

Sandra on

Children are very beautiful. I am very happy for Britney, The wheel turns, does not it Kevin ?????.

Kelly on

They are absolutely adorable! I love their haircuts!

Mariel on

wow
SP IS ALL KEVIN AND
JJ IS ALL BRITNEY!!

WOW WOW WOW!!

Jana on

KateRose, I think Britney’s a “decent looking person” with or without her hair combed! Some moms don’t have time to make sure their hair is combed or make-up is fresh when they’re with their kids. You can’t knock Britney for that. Sometimes I don’t have time to run a comb through my hair when I’m chasing my little ones. I’m a mom – not a model!

Jana on

Cute buzz cuts! I love short hair on boys! Long hair is a bit girly in my opinion.

Electra on

I think that the boys look cute with these haircuts. They remind me a bit of Sheryl Crow’s son. And Brit Brit spends the majority of her life with a madeup face and styled hair, maybe she associates it with work. Either way she hardly looks like a hot mess.

Emmy on

The boys look cute, even with short hair!

As for looks, Sean Preston definitely looks like Kevin and Jayden is all Britney.

I don’t think any of us have the right to judge her situation or her past – none of us are saints and none of us know the full story. She’s made mistakes and seems to have learnt from them. What’s important is her sons are happy and healthy and obviously adore her and the feeling is mutual.

mrswilliams on

@ KateRose

hmm i’m rude…. i wonder why you felt the need to point out her hair though…was there an underlying catty tone, im my opinion which as you stated i am allowed to express i felt was uncalled for, how would you feel if some one said you were ok looking if you just brushed your hair..or put some make up on, would you be offended ..of course you would be as would any one so my point is …leave her alone, you no that expression your mother maybe said to you once,

if you can’t say any thing nice………………………

KateRose on

“You can’t knock Britney for that. Sometimes I don’t have time to run a comb through my hair when I’m chasing my little ones.”

Actually I can knock her for that as I am perfectly free to express my opinion, whether other people think I have that right or not. And everyone has time to comb their hair – those who don’t are merely using their children as excuses. I’m not talking about achieving a really fancy hairdo, I’m talking about running a comb through their hair – Moms have time for that too. Especially celebrity moms who have nannies, housekeepers, and personal assistants at their disposal.

KateRose on

“how would you feel if some one said you were ok looking if you just brushed your hair..or put some make up on, would you be offended ..of course you would be as would any one so my point is”

No, I wouldn’t be offended. Because I am a secure enough person to not care what other people think of me. But it’s beside the point really, because I have enough respect for myself to not walk around looking like a used dishrag – I brush my hair in the morning, put on an outfit that fully covers my body, etc.

And I don’t have to leave her alone. I will express my opinion, regardless of whether you think it’s appropriate. As for the expression “if you can’t say anything nice. . . ” – My mother never said that to me. My mother taught me that I have a responsiblity to not blindly worship celebrities to the point where I act like everything they do and say is good and perfect. She also taught me to not back down to people like you – so I will continue to express my opinion, and if you don’t like it, then oh well. It won’t change anything.

Ryo on

Oh yes, everyone knows how important it is to make sure your hair is perfectly coiffed before you take your kids to the park! Some people are just never going to be happy; don’t even bother giving them the attention they crave. Besides, while I may not like her personal style, she always seems pretty presentable to me.

Those boys are so adorable! I didn’t like the haircuts at first but it definitely suits them.

Courtney on

They are adorable! I am very happy htat Brit has a chance to raise her kids. I am proud of her for her turnaround.

on a side not I find it SO FUNNY that there are people here who do not like the boys having short hair and saying htey wish it was lon gnad then on the Celine Dion pages its all about how she needs to cut his hair and its too long! Proof that no one is every happy…LOL Do with your kids how you see fit. My 2 year old boy has a mohawk.

Hea on

I like her hair. It’s quite trendy, even.

nettrice on

@ KateRose: My mother taught me to never point, always have good manners, and never talk about anyone behind their back.

I’m just sayin’.

Annabelle23 on

“Oh yes, everyone knows how important it is to make sure your hair is perfectly coiffed before you take your kids to the park!”

I’m searching through the comments, looking for the place where anyone said that Britney should have perfectly coiffed hair, but I can’t find it. What are you even talking about? All I see is one person who said she should comb it, and that person said in a later post that they WERE NOT talking about elaborate hairstyles, but merely combing it. I don’t see why some people are so defensive just because someone thinks a person should comb their hair before leaving the house.

J-Lin on

I like the boys’ hair. Very cute.

I hate when people use the excuse they are a “mom” and they “chase little ones all day. There’s no excuse for looking a mess. Don’t set a bad example for the kids.

janie on

handsome boys!

Lynds on

I think this is a really cute picture. The boys are beyond cute, Britney looks pretty good to me, and the bodyguard/manny is lookin’ fine!

KateRose on

“My mother taught me to never point, always have good manners, and never talk about anyone behind their back.”

My mother taught me to think for myself, and not be a smiling, chirping robot who is unable to say anything other than “What a great Mom.” I prefer to use critical thinking skills and determine whether I like or dislike something – rather than blindly worship people for no reason. She also taught me to always speak my mind, even when there are self-righteous bullies around who are trying to make everyone else give in to some fake herd mentality.

Andrea_momof2 on

I’ve started to learn which celebrities have people that hate them no matter what and also love them no matter what. I think Britney’s trying her best and I think others feel this way too but I realize there are some that will always dislike her. There’s no point in arguing over it.

mrswilliams on

well my mum taught me that if i can’t find any thing nice to say..not to say anthing at all..something i shall be teaching my own children, as to keep the nastyness in this world aimed at other *whom you don’t even no..* to themselves.. and not try and pass it off as an opinion.

also, may i just ask, if your so very secure in yourself, why do you feel the need to point out ‘flaws’ in others….
i always thought that kind of thing was reserved for those needing higher selfesteam..which is why no matter how beautiful someone looks there will always be people putting them down to make themselves feel better….

its a sad world when mothers turn on each other, there no sisterhood any more, just catty judgemental ”opinions” as they like to say…even though its clear its just a nasty dig.

i have never met britney nor her children, but i wish only GOOD things for her, i hope she stays happy, healthy and her boys too. i think she is a woman who spent a long time being ‘done up’ and if she wants to just pull her hair up in a quick pony tail to take her sons out than thats ok with me but i understand there are people who will be unkind, they have nothing better to do,i would like to state in MY opinion britney spears does not look like ”a used dishrag” as stated by some one else.. i think she looks lovely, and happy and really thats all that matters.

now im off too not brush my hair lmao!

Electra on

KateRose and for everyone else.

Brit Brit clearly has tracks in her hair it has that look because the tracks(partically the top ones)are being pulled into a bun. So thats not a look of unkempt or uncombed hair. Its just the way the tracks were sewn in.

Everyone has a right to express their opinion. However I will never be able to understand why some particular opinions need to be vocalized. I will never understand why some people take the energy to call a baby unattractive, ridicule a pregnant woman for having on too short a dress, or to make some haughty comment about someones hair. I’m not a drone or a robot, but I think my “critical thinking skills” are best reserved for more pressing issues.

Katerose you’re coming off prattish and more self-righteous than any other poster.

Mary-Helen on

I think my hair looked the same way when I left the house this morning lol.

I have two little ones and one on the way and after making sure that the youngest used the potty, packed the pullups, made the healthy snacks, got the girls hair and teeth brushed, faces washed, breakfast eaten, dressed, shoes on, it was time to grab the purse and head for the bus so up in the ponytail it went! My daughters are 8 and 2 and my eldest can kind of fend for herself when it comes to teeth and hair brushing and picking out clothes, but if I am finding no time for hair and makeup in the AM, I can only imagine Britney trying to find a moment with two preschoolers.

lj on

Why does everyone feel the need to comment on other people’s comments? It only starts drama. Can’t we all just say something without someone else attacking or picking it apart? This is getting ridiculous! I think maybe some people are just bored and have nothing better to do than to start fights with people they have never met. We are grown women- lets show a little respect for each other and maturity.

kmb on

haha her hair’s in a messy bun, who gives a flying hoot? that style is in- i’m wearing one right now. i’m not a huge britney fan by any means, but leave the girl be for something so trivial!

Cammie on

Wow, yet ANOTHER post about Britney that turns nasty, imagine that.

Cammie on

and Mrs Williams, I agree with everything you have posted

Becky on

Wow, really?! KateRose is being critisized this much for simply stating Britney needs to comb her hair?! She didn’t say she looked like crap, she just said she should comb her hair. My goodness! I totally agree. Her hair always looks a mess and regardless of if she has nannies, hair stylists, etc etc at her disposal, even if she didn’t, it is not hard to just brush your hair and throw it up to look like she didn’t just roll out of bed. And I don’t buy the “busy mom” excuse for one second. She still finds the time to go the bathroom, right? I think she can find the time to brush her hair for 2 seconds. Crazy…..You really can’t say any little thing on this site anymore without being completely attacked and told you can’t say something by a perfect stranger.

Becky on

Oh and I TOTALLY agree! HOT MANNY ALERT!!!!

Lola on

Really KateRose? “No, I wouldn’t be offended. Because I am a secure enough person to not care what other people think of me.”

You must not know that obvious signs of severe insecurity is pointing out others flaws to build yourself up, which is exactly what you are doing.

“My mother taught me to think for myself, and not be a smiling, chirping robot who is unable to say anything other than “What a great Mom.” I prefer to use critical thinking skills and determine whether I like or dislike something – rather than blindly worship people for no reason. She also taught me to always speak my mind, even when there are self-righteous bullies around who are trying to make everyone else give in to some fake herd mentality.”

Since I also have a right to state my opinion, I want you to know that the only “self righteous bully” I see here is you my dear. Starting catfights on a celeb baby forum? Is that your idea of not conforming to the “herd mentality”? Way to stick it to the Sheeple lol

Sage on

I think the boy’s are such little cuties and Jayden is all Britney.

KateRose- I am so glad you’re mother taught you to speak your mind. But obviously she skiped the part about doing it in a respectful way. The only one that is coming off as insecure and a bullie is you. Just becaus some people are not knocking down other’s to make themselves feel better doesn’t mean they are following the herd.(My mother also taught me to stand up against bullies also)

Yolanda on

Did anyone actually read @KateRose’s post before attacking her? She is right on both points and her initial post wasn’t rude or inflammatory. One, it is the responsibility of the parent to provide unconditional love to the children, not the other way around. It is really great for Britney that she has her children back, but it is even better for the boys that they have their mother back. Mental illness is real and children suffer most when parents suffer from these diseases.

And secondly, Britney does need to comb her hair. She has extensions and they are poorly done and take away from her natural beauty. I actually would love to see her hair blonde and shoulder length. It would be a very cute style naturally. As a human being, she of course has a right to do her hair however she wishes but in truth, her extensions take away from her great face. If I had awful extensions I would want someone to tell me, nicely of course, how great my hair looks au natural!

Holly on

Hope this doesn’t sound bad but her boys look so much healthier.

QT on

Britney, her boys & Edan all look great in these pics. They look happy & healthy & that’s what is important.

KateRose you’re the only self rightous bully in this post. You get on people for attacking your opinion which you stated as a fact. But you attacking Mel’s post is what started this entire thing. Yes Britney’s feelings as a mom do matter, all parents do. As for her hair, it is combed in a bun & she looks good.

Denise on

Umm…so is this a forum for comments on pics of Celebrity babies or is it a forum to critique each other? There are 50+ comments as of mine and the majority are fighting back and forth on “I am entitled to my opinion”…yawn.

Let’s get back to the pic…these boys are super cute…I love their short hair..even though I’m not really into buzz cuts..they look very cute. And as someone else posted…now with shorter hair, one looks just like Mom and the other like Dad. I’m surprised someone hasn’t commented that this has got to be one of the first pics in which the younger boy doesn’t have a pacifier in his mouth! :)

Amanda on

Why is everyone concerned with what some KateRose has to say. She clearly has nothing of value or importance to say…so I would just ignore her comments.
Britney’s boys look so handsome and there is no doubt that they enjoy spending time with their mommy and vice versa. I too am happy that Britney was given a second chance to become the best mother she could possibly be. I didn’t even notice her hair until some cyber bully decided to point it out!

L on

Cuuuuties!!!

Christina on

I’m sorry, but they look SO MUCH better with their new haircuts. Before their hair was always in their eyes and looked like someone popped a bowl on their head before cutting it. Their hair should be short, they are boys after all.

Kait on

Oh my gosh! They just shedded the little cutesy boy look overnight, they look so grown up with that haircut. It totally transformed them between baby and big boy. I am so glad to see Britney has them around more often, she seems to have transformed as well tremendously.

Terri on

Amen, lj.

I like Sean’s shirt.

CelebBabyLover on

To the people asking if there are any recent pictures of Kevin with the boys….Some were posted just today of him, his gf, a nanny, and a bodyguard at the zoo with the boys. :)

comparethemeerkat on

katerose…I actually agree with everything you have said, especially where you wrote that it is a parents job to give their child unconditional love, not the other way around. Don’t be put off by what other people have written, as they obviously have not READ what you wrote. I for one completely agree with you.

daniela on

Yolanda and KateRose – I agree with both of y’all completely.

Alex on

Jayden is mini Brit, so cute! SP is a Kevin mini mi. I’m happy that Brit bounced back & is a good mom. Her boys are so adorable & grown up looking with the short hair.

Jana on

We all know that yes, this is a forum to comment on pics of celeb children along with any accompanying article but lets be serious. This is also a forum for dialogue. These threads would be awfully dull and lifeless if every post was regarding a pic with no responses or comments related to the posts of others. This is the Internet and no matter where you go whether it be a forum, Facebook, Twitter, email–whatever–you will generate dialogue. Let’s just accept that.

jenny on
