Heidi Klum: The Bigger the Better at Upcoming Emmy Awards

When Heidi Klum successfully parlayed her career as a model into the role of Project Runway host, her name became synonymous with fashion. So when the 36-year-old mom-of-three walks the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 20 — where the Lifetime reality show is nominated for four awards — all eyes will be on her…and her bump!
Currently expecting her fourth child, a girl, Heidi reveals in a new interview that she won’t be wearing a gown designed by a Project Runway contestant, however. “I already have someone who I had my eye peeled on, and that is Marchesa,” she says, explaining that she’s asked one of the label’s designers, Georgina Chapman, to create her a custom frock. “And that’s quite a challenge, too, to design something for someone who is growing,” she notes.
“I’m already quite big, and in two months’ time, I will be even bigger. She already said, “Well, what do you think? How big are you gonna be in two months?” And I’m like, ‘I don’t know — make it work! [Laughs] Add a little bit more fabric here, make it stretchier there and make it bigger.”
If she has any advice for the Marchesa team of Georgina and Keren Craig, Heidi says to err on the side of caution! “We can always take it in … the other way around will get hard.”
Although the big night will involve a recognition of her work on television, Heidi says she’s rarely a viewer. “I never find the time,” she admits. “I want to do things with my family.”
“When I work, I work, and when I’m at home, I’m at home, and I don’t really watch that much television. Most of the time, we put movies on for the kids so that they don’t have to watch too many commercials.”
Heidi and husband Seal are parents to Leni, 5, Henry, 3 ½, and Johan, 2 ½. Their baby-on-the-way is due in mid-October.
