Mama Mio Supermama Kit: Kept Me Velvety Smooth All 9 Months

08/19/2009 at 10:00 AM ET

I was first introduced to the Mama Mio products when I received a prenatal massage at a spa. The massage oil was so fragrant and didn’t make me nauseous. From then on I was hooked!

What makes Mama Mio products even more amazing are their all natural ingredients; they are paraben-free. Unfortunately many products claiming to be paraben-free don’t smell good. The Mama Mio products were the first products that I used during my pregnancy that were sweet smelling and actually worked. I gained more than 45 lbs during my pregnancy and credit Mama Mio products for the lack of stretch marks on my tummy.

In addition to the Massage Oil ($19) used during my massage, I also purchased the Supermama Kit ($99) that includes the O-Mega Shower Cream ($19/10 oz) which left my body feeling like silk, Super-Rich Body Cream which was great for the unbearable itchy tummy ($28/6.8 oz), O-Mega Body Buff gentle exfoliator ($33/6.8 oz) and the O-Mega Wonder-Full Balm ($26/1 oz). My skin felt like velvet my entire pregnancy.

I have even continued to use these products into motherhood.  The Boob Tube Firming Cream ($45/3.4 oz) has helped keep my breasts smooth and — dare I say — perky while nursing and the omega-rich Tummy Rub Butter ($35/4 oz) helped my skin stay tight while I lose my pregnancy weight.  These are quality skin care products for women while pregnant and beyond!

Although the products are a bit pricey, they are worth every dollar since they allow you to feel like a normal woman during and after the pregnancy journey.

I hate to say this to the author, but genetics are entirely responsible for the presence (or lack thereof) of stretch marks, although I am now intrigued by these products….

Yes, I agree. I used the tummy buttter and the oil and still got some stretch marks so it’s not a guarantee. I figure it’s the price of bringing life into the world…small one to pay…so just don’t expect miracles and don’t get too disappointed.

Avoiding pregnancy stretch marks isn’t just genetics–I’ve gotten stretch marks since I was a teen from gaining and losing weight too quickly. However, while pregnant I was determined NOT to get them on my belly if I could avoid it, and I rubbed Mama Mio’s oil on my belly every day, sometimes twice a day if I was itching. And I don’t have any stretch marks on my belly, even though I got really big toward the end.

Genetics Shmetics – This Awesome product kept me from getting any stretch marks during my first pregnancy. I am totally prone to them I got them during my teen age growth but I thought I would give mama mio tummy rub a try – love it and its wonderful, calming scent. i didn’t believe such a product existed, but thought it was worth a try; i was not disappointed! Thanks to you, my bikini days are not over.

Mom Said It

"It helps that other moms had said that once they had their babies, they forgot they were ever pregnant. So once my focus became the baby and not the pregnancy, it was a very easy decision."
