melea, you totally don’t get what people are saying when they suggest people are playing God when they prescreen embryos. they are talking about the people that just kill the embryos with problems (and it happens, a LOT). that is not our responsibility or our place. it is God’s. therefore yes, whether you like it or not, prescreening is a form of playing God.

and for ALL you out there criticizing the people who say it’s too soon to be announcing this pregnancy, i agree with one of the early posters who said that you all need to realize that maybe the reason some people feel this way is because they have been through pregnancy losses themselves and they know how early and how critical it is, and they know how risky this first trimester is, in particular. it may be more that they are thinking of celine and the idea of it being more painful if it doesn’t work out. so get off your high horses and think of someone other than yourself.

Everyone has to do what’s best for THEIR family. As for why Celine and Rene waited so long to have another baby (it’s not just Celine who waited to have a baby. Obviously chances are that Rene was involved in that decision, too.), it could be any number of reasons, and frankly, it’s none of our business. Nor is it any of our business why she chose to share so early.

Obviously she made the choices that she felt were best for HER and HER family.
