Milla Jovovich Says Daughter Motivated Her to Marry

After eight years together Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson will make it official next week, with a wedding at their home in the Hollywood Hills. In a new interview with Wales Online, the 33-year-old actress says that she owes their big day to their little girl — 21-month-old Ever Gabo. “Having a baby pretty much decided it,” Milla explains. “Up until then, we’d talked about marriage a few times but we were pretty easy about the whole thing.”
It would appear as though Ever has transformed other areas of her mom’s life, as well. Milla admits that her career has taken a back-burner since Ever arrived, noting that a blown audition doesn’t carry the same weight as it did in her pre-baby life. “Even if I don’t get the job, I know I’m going to be really busy as a mom,” she points out. “And even if I didn’t do another film again, being a mom is a full-time job.”
“Having a baby is the most incredible thing I’ve ever done as a person — and also the biggest single teacher in the world for me is my child. When you have a baby, that person becomes so important that only really tangible problems become important, rather than all these emotional concerns that you had before.”
So long as Ever is “growing up well and getting everything she needs,” Milla says that her professional accolades are viewed as “just a plus.” Her enthusiasm for motherhood is evident when the Resident Evil star talks about her plans for Ever’s future. “It’s crazy to see how fast she’s growing and wondering next year if we’ll be taking her on camping trips,” Milla exclaims.
“When we drive somewhere — the excitement of going to Disney World, the mountains or the beach, all the things I did with my parents when I was growing up — I’m so looking forward to all the questions and all the conversations. It’s incredible to think of how much fun we’re going to have.”
