The cast of Scrubs continues to grow!

Actress Sarah Chalke – who has portrayed Dr. Elliot Reid on the sitcom since 2001 – is pregnant, her rep confirms. Baby-on-the-way is due this winter, and will also be the first for Sarah’s fiancé, entertainment lawyer Jamie Afifi. The couple were engaged in December 2006.

If the 32-year-old, who recently starred in Maneater, is in need of a kindred spirit on set she need look no further than co-star Judy Reyes, who expects her first child – a girl — in November.

aww, cool! she’ll always be ‘becky’ (roseane) to me.

those two ‘breakig news’ boxes really excited me, I’m so pathetic. Even more pathetic: I really had to giggle at the name ‘Afifi’.

Very happy for her!

But really people, the whole “I didn’t see this coming”….do you know these celebrities personal lives??? Are you in their bedrooms, knowing their business and intentions? It’s just the silliest comment everytime….

Courtney on

WOW! Congrats to them! I am soo moving to Hollywood. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now with one miscarriage and absolutley no luck since! Either they all have great fertility doctors that we don’t know about or the water is extra special!

L on

Heather, what difference does it make to you? Some of these celebs, whether I know them are not don’t shock me when they announce a pregnancy because they’ve been quite vocal about their attempts, married for sometime, of a certain age etc… I don’t really understand why you’re so up in arms about it. Good grief.

Jessica on

Yay! We love Scrubs, first “Carla” now “Elliot” Congrats to them, they’re both going to have GORGEOUS babies!

JKE on

Mary-Helen… I KNEW I knew her from somewhere but never made the connection that she was Becky (well one of them, as you point out) on Roseanne!
A huge congrats to her and her partner!

Laura on

There must be something in the water in Hollywood!
Congrads to Sarah & Jamie!
I am sure they’ll be wonderful parents.

I sent this tip to CBB yesterday (the Scrubs creator had mentioned it in in an interview with a TV critic but the stuff about Sarah being pregnant were taken down after I read it, though I had copied part of it to send in) I guess enough people saw that where they were getting some questions and had to go public…Glad I was able to scoop People magazine, lol.

Some one needs to warn actresses about How I Met Your Mother, every lady that goes on that show winds up pregnant.

stephanie on

Haha, the HIMYM water got to her! In case anyone didn’t know, Cobie Smulders’s fiancee Taran Killam plays Jimmy The Overly Touchy Orderly on Scrubs :)

Ava on

Yay!! A real celebrity with real talent is pregnant. I love Sarah.

CelebBabyLover on

Sarah- LOL! There’s got to be something in the water on the set of that show!

Whitney Sterk on

it’s not that everyone seems to be getting pregnant, it’s just that in Hollywood, when a woman got prego – she kept out of the spotlight. Many times women were told to just go away and come back in a year…. it’s not so taboo anymore. It shouldn’t be taboo but we have to respect “public figures” pregnancy.

Terri on

Cool. I was just watching her Lifetime movie last week. Hilarious.

Holly on

I’m happy for her, I love her on the show can’t wait it meet the baby =)

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
