Here’s a peek at a baby we haven’t seen in quite some time!
Jamie Lynn Spears stepped out with a pajama-clad Maddie Briann, 13 ½ months, on a scorching hot Sunday in Louisiana.
The pair stopped by a gas station to pick up a few items before continuing on their way to Lynne Spears‘ home.
Maddie is Jamie Lynn’s daughter with Casey Aldridge.

Aw she is soo cute! Although it looks like the sun is in her eyes! I know Casey got in a car accident and was severly injured, but Maddie and Jamie Lynn went to go visit him, this was when Maddie was 10 months old. I also wonder if she is still with Casey, i will say yes because they never said they were off. And i didnt even notice her ears were pierced but she is very cute and i love the pajamas. Although Jamie Lynn Spears is always going to be critized for having a child so young, she looks like a good mom and i hope her and casey are still together.

I’m a little disappointed that this picture is up here. Jamie Lynn moved to Louisiana, got out of L.A. to live a regular normal life like the rest of us – give her child a normal life. Yet pictures of her still get posted on a celeb website! I don’t really think it’s fair.

According to some magazines JLS called off her engagement to Casey because she felt she was too young to get married. She returned the engagement ring to Casey and said that she would rather stay boyfriend/girlfriend instead of marriage.

YAY!!! Finally a picture of Maddie and Jamie Lynn!!! I’ve been wondering when we were going to get to see this duo again ….. it’s been tooo long! Jamie Lynn looks great and awww Maddie is absolutely just adorable, I think she looks like a mixture of Jamie Lynn and Casey along with a mixture of Sean Preston and Jayden (but that could be Jamie Lynn’s side showing)
I also have to say I love how Jamie Lynn is dressed and has Maddie dressed so down to earth and not “hollywood”.

This is a very mature young girl,who has her priorities straight.UNLIKE SOME ADULTS TWICE HER AGE.Yes it’s been a while since we saw pictures of her and her child.That is because she made it very clear from the beginning that she was going to raise her child away from the hollywood spot light.He that is without sin cast the first stone.We have seen examples of other hollywood moms(old and young)who pass their child to a nanny minutes after it’s born and call their agent to see how they can get back in the game.How many of you moms scolding JLS had sex as teenagers?…does the fact that you did not get pregnant justify it? just food for thought….

I didn’t think Casey and Jamie were still together…but who knows I guess. And to edel, I don’t think wherever she went she was going to escape the paparazzi. Plus, when was the last time we saw a picture of these two? It’s not very often we do so I do think they are getting quite a bit of privacy.

B- I am not here to start a riot (lol) but I don’t understand she felt too young to marry, yet not to young to have a child? It sounds weird to me since it’s often the other way around.

so mae, she was supposed to do what? abort, give the baby away??? having a kid and getting married are not comparable things. both are huge engagment but you can be ready to be a parents but not to marry or the contrary.

What I meant is that contrary to marriage, a child is a superior commitment (in my book) and a responsability for LIFE. It seems most of people would marry because it seems “easier”; it’s why I was SURPRISED (nothing else) by her decision not to marry but raise her child.

I’m not trying to make this a bigger issue than it is, because, in a weird way, I get what you were saying (and I’m sick of everyone attacking each other on here). That being said, at 16, to the best of our knowledge, she didn’t make the decision to get pregnant. Yes, she decided to continue with the pregnancy (for which I totally applaud) and opted to raise her child as opposed to putting it up for adoption (which, one way or the other, cannot not be an easy choice at such a young age), but nonetheless, becoming pregnant wasn’t a choice she intentionally made. However, she can choose whether or not to become married at such a young age, and she obviously doesn’t feel ready for such a huge commitment. I’m sure she wasn’t ready to become a mother either, but she didn’t have too much of choice once she decided to raise her. I personally don’t believe in premarital sex as it is, but I also don’t agree with marrying someone just because you had a child out of wedlock. Nor do I think most people that age are capable of having a strong, lasting marriage. I think it’s safe to say that most people enter marriage with the notion that it will be forever (at least that’s what they proclaim in their vows) so why would anyone ever enter into such a sacred union if they have in the back of their mind, “welp, I can always divorce and cancel the marriage if it doesn’t work out”? I guess I’m just assuming she’d rather be 10000% certain that when she marries, it’s the right thing to be doing and she must not have felt that way at this time.
Like I said, I hope you don’t take what I said the wrong way and I hope no one else thinks I’m attacking you. I understand what you were trying to say, just trying to bring a different perspective on the matter.

I am very together with my hubby but sometimes I take my ring off if I am working around the house because I dont want paint to get on it or I am using hard chemicals so I take it off and forget to put it back on! So just because she isn’t wearing her ring does not mean she is not with Casey…but then again that’s exactly what it could mean we just dont know.

Anyway, I still cannot believe little Jaime-Lynn is a mother! And I applaud her for moving back to Louisiana for a “normal” life. She does seem quite mature. I’m sure that seeing how hollywood has affected her older sister has impacted her drastically, which is why she moved. And I think, good for her for breaking off the engagement if she was unsure. It’s much better to break an engagement then to go along with the marriage with the mindset that “at least you can divorce or cancel a marriage.”

Personally, I think it shows a lot of maturity to know when NOT to get married. It doesn’t make sense to me when two people marry because they have a child, if they have a feeling that the marriage won’t last. Marriage SHOULD be a big commitment. It should be just as much of a commitment as raising a child. Finding out you are pregnant and choosing to keep and raise your child, is a very different kind of decision then deciding to get married. In an ideal situation, both things are forever and not everyone thinks, “well, if it doesn’t work, I can just get divorced.” I commend Jamie Lynn for taking both marriage and motherhood so seriously. And, as someone who has a a baby and is happily married, I happen to find motherhood easier than marriage. Just my two cents.

I am happy for Jamie Lynn. She decided that after having a child at 17 and getting pregnant at 16, it would be best if she went “undercoer”. I think it’s great she is giving up her fame for her daughter. Maybe Jamie Lynn has decided either a)people won’t want to watch her anymore b)she should focus on Maddie and her relationship with Casey or c)she would prefer to be famous when she’s a little older. This is great for her; like Miley Cryus, she shouldn’t ahve been in fame so early. Personally, I feel that Miley Cyrus dresses too old for her age, while Jamie Lynn always seemed to try and dress more down-to-earth. And I’m happy for that. It’s great that for once she is letting the baby get sun. And luckily this will stop the rumors that “Maddie’s in bad health” or so they said when she was much younger. Now they only do that to Knox and Vivenne Jolie-Pitt. Well, I’m glad that Jamie Lynn has decided to try and stay out of the way of the cameras for a while. I am sure this is gonna be great for Maddie later on in life. She will appreciate being out of the cameras, and by the way some babies hate cameras; so that might be the case with Maddie. Some babies can handle a camera while others can’t, but I’m glad for that most of the time. It seems like Jamie Lynn has been trying to get her life back on it’s regular, normal track. Well, good for you Jamie Lynn, it has worked so far! I think Maddie and Jamie Lynn are beautiful together!

You rarely see Jamie-Lynn nowadays, which I think is a great thing. I’ll never bash a young mom for getting her life together and setting priorities. And to those who think it’s odd that Jamie isn’t bashed for being a teenage mom…you must have missed almost every post about her during her pregnancy. There was some real vitriol there.

I’m so happy for Jamie Lynn and her precious baby girl Maddie. I think it was the best possible solution to move to Lousiana to concentrate on her daughter and raising her in the most “normal” environment and away from the hoopla that surrounded Britney when she had her sons.
She seems to be a very mature and responsible young lady, and I can applaud her being a hands on Mom and taking the reigns of her life.

Getting married is a big decision,i’m going to be bold and say its a bigger decision than her having a child. Having a child is a natural thing,most mothers adore their children from day one and always will,however,partners,boyfriends,the affection a person has for them is changeable,and seing as its a teenage relationship,probably one of her first major ones,this doesn’t mean it is to be her last. Maybe they are waiting because modern thinking would say that marriage,whilst a big commitment and instituition,is also just a piece of paper. They can be in love,happy,committed and good parents without a wedding band. Marriage can wait and it doesn’t have to be rushed.

Sin,what planet are you on, since when are Condoms and Birth control 100% effective.And if those said items are rare to come by wouldn’t that significantly increase ones chances of getting pregnant(intentionally or not).Last I heard abstinance was the only 100% effective way of preventing pregnancy.And I’m not religious.

Jamie Lynn has seemed to be in control of her life from the very beginning of her pregnancy. Its refreshing that though she came out about her pregnancy in a big way(ok magazine it think?) she’s been very quiet and private. Probably because she’s learned from her own growing up in the spotlight!

and I don’t feel like criticizing her because she’s a child. I’m only 3 years older than her(i think), but really a 16 year old having sex is only partially responsible. Her parents had them living together under the same roof!! Lynn Spears ain’t the best mom in my book. So I’m not going to bad mouth Jamie Lynn because while she put herself in this situation she seems to have made the best of it..and so what if she isn’t married, I say good for her.

sin, how do you know that Jamie-Lynn and Casey didn’t use protection? Condoms and birth control are not 100% effective. I think it’s safe to say that neither of them intended to conceive, but it’s great to see that Jamie-Lynn has grown into a mature and responsible mother.

lets just say this- nobody knows what happened and if Jamie Lynn used condoms or birth control when Maddie was concieved- and no offence to any of you know-it-all`s out there but its not really our business. Maddie was born and thats that. Maddie is a beautiful baby and it shouldnt matter anymore. im sure when Jamie Lynn found out she was pregnant she was scared, as new moms always are, but you know what? shes a mom who loves her baby, none of that shouldnt matter anymore. there are so many teen moms out there and so is Jamie Lynn. gosh, you act like she commited murder.

Sin, I’m assuming you meant that contraception IS NOT hard to come by, and you’re absolutely right. But they aren’t 100% effective (my (married) cousin was pregnant both times while on birth control and I know about a handful of others that have been in the same situation), none of us where there when she and Casey engaged in the act and none of us know the entire situation, so who are we to say she “subconsciously chose to get pregnant?” Like 2thebeach said, the only true guarantee to remain pregnant free is to abstain from sex all together, whether you are 14 or 44.

I am dumbfounded by some of the comments here. People make mistakes. It happens. It’s completely irrelevant why or how JLS fell pregnant at 16; the fact is, she did, and ever since she has behaved with complete integrity, maturity and grace. She has owned up to her mistakes and embraced the role of motherhood. This is a girl who was a “star” in Hollywood, a girl with her own TV show, and at 16 she recognised her priorities had to shift and they did. She chose her daughter over fame and it couldn’t have been easy at such a young age. IMO, JLS should be very proud of herself.

I see marriage as just as much of a commitment as having a baby, and I believe that, if you have the mind set that “at least I can get divorced/get an annulment if this doesn’t work out,” then you shouldn’t get married. I’ll probably get criticized for this, but I believe you should get married only if you are commited to staying with that person for the rest of your life!
Anyway, Maddie is adorable, and she reminds me a bit of her cousins Preston and Jayden when they were her age. Oh, and I love that she has bare feet! Bare feet on babies are so cute!

Sorry but that really is not a valid arguement. My husband then finace were using two methods of BC and we still got pregnant at the age of 18. It happens when it happens birth control or not.

I think its great that Jamie keeps Maddie out of the spotlight. I haven’t seen her in a year! But in this picture I think Maddie looks a lot like Jamie especially in the mouth area. I heard rumors that Jamie and Casey are not together anymore. But both love their baby girl so I hope they both get to see her without any arguments.
