BabyBjorn Feeding Products: Less Mess and Stress

Plate and spoon

Feeding a baby can be quite amusing, yet serious and sometimes annoying. Mushy food is tossed into your hair. On your clean shirt. On your new rug. But one thing your baby can’t toss is BabyBjorn’s Plate ($23 sold with two spoons). It’s sturdy –  with a clover-like shape and rubber base that is designed to make it harder for little ones to scoop it up and throw at will. The shape of the bowl also lets you separate foods into three sections so everything won’t get mashed up.

Soft Bib

Pair the plate with the spoon (sold with the plate or separately for $12/2) which features a short handle — great for small hands to grip–and wide mouth. When I first started feeding my baby girl at 6 months the spoon mouth was too wide, but now that she’s mastered finding her mouth, she can use it herself. My daughter also likes the grip of the spoon and often just wants to play with it as a toy.

The bowl and spoons are sold as as set (1 bowl + 2 spoons) and come in great colors like green/yellow and blue/red. The spoons are also sold separately in a 2-pack in red/blue, pink/black or yellow/green.

And you can’t feed your baby without a bib. The Soft Bib ($10 or $18/2-pack) is ergonomically designed and made of a soft, flexible plastic-like material. It has a deep pocket to catch all of the missed opportunities and fastens at the neck with a beaded collar that can expand along with your baby. It’s a bit clunky and heavy for first time eaters, but as your child grows this can come in really handy as it’s made of heavier material and fastens well, so it really stays put! And for $10 you can’t go wrong.

It’s amazing how fast kids figure out “kid-proof” stuff! I’m sure it’s a good product and all, but don’t be fooled, it’ll be on the floor by the second use!

The bibs are great, but I agree with Angelique on the bowl.

the bibs are great, but there’s no way I’m paying $23 for a plastic plate!!!Target dollar section anyone?

How do you pronounce Bjorn?

- Brooke on

My daughter picked it up, dumped her food on the table and threw it on the floor the first time she used this. The spoons are quite nice though.

Brooke…it is pronounced like b-yorn but smushed together. Byorn. The j is like a y sound.

We have this bowl set and it’s actually really good. It is a great size, and the splayed base makes it harder for children to pick it up. My daughter does lift it, but less than she does with the suction base bowls – which she immediately sees as a personal challenge to remove from the tabletop.
Even though it is pricey it has resisted staining from red/orangey foods and will last us through another child, unlike some cheaper items I’ve purchased.

Oh,I bought that set for a friend’s child and a few months later they told me it was a great gift.So I purchased it for my little one who is now on the way.Couldn’t wait until it’s born and gets older…

wow, $ 23 for a plate? that’s a lot of money… wed had one of these sets, I bought it at a second-hand-shop (but it was unused) for only $ 3 and I liked it a lot…

Wow on the price. My husband thought me spending $7 for one boon bowl was to much but it was the only one that my daughter could not pop off the high chair. I would never spend $23 on a bowl.
