Rachel Griffiths' Sweet Clementine

Limelight

Who can resist precious piggytoes? We can’t!

Brothers and Sisters actress Rachel Griffiths stepped out with her kids in tow — including 6-week-old daughter Clementine Grace — on Sunday, August 2nd, for a sweet treat. The family indulged in some frozen yogurt before heading home.

Rachel, 40, and her husband Andrew Taylor are also parents to Banjo Patrick, 5 ½, and Adelaide Rose, 4.

I have to admit, Banjo was a little odd at first, but now the name has kinda grown on me! Love all of the names of her kids! :)

Clementine looks just like her father.

The same with me Angela, about the name Banjo, odd at first, really cute afterwards. As for he little girls names, althought I wouldn’t name my daughter that because I have my own favourites, I think that including 6-week-old daughter Clementine Grace and Adelaide Rose are gorgeous names, that fit a baby and little girl as they fit a grown up woman.

sorry for the “including 6-week-old daughter”, I just copied paste the names to be faster.

lol.
the comments about the name banjo make me laugh. my son’s name is also banjo and at first everyone was in shock that that was his real name, but of course, now everyone (well just about eveyone :) ) is used to it and thinks it’s a pretty cool name.
i love all the names of rachel’s children.

Six weeks old?!! No way! She’s so long and holding her head up really well!!!

- mmh on

Is it just me or does she look big for 6 weeks? She is a cutie and loves the girls’ names.

What an adorable little baby girl!

- k on

An absolutely beautiful girl…she’s going to be tall like her mother!

Oh god, those toes! May I bite? :D

Adelaide and Clementine are beautiful names, and they fit so perfectly together, too!
I agree – Clementine looks a bit big for 6 weeks! She looks like she’s holding her head up already! But it’s probably just the picture…Maybe she was bobbing her head and this shot was taken at the right moment to make it look like she was holding her head up.

Yes, she is big for 6 weeks! And it’s looking she’s already checking the time thinking – “it’s time to grow up” or something.. LOL!

Not too keen on any of the names though..

So, so, so, so CUTE!!!!

- Shannon on

I think Adelaide looks older/bigger than 6 weeks, too! She’s cute.

I mean *Clementine*!!

Wow, the way she totes this kid makes you wonder. In the last photo the baby was just draped over her arm now she appears to just be holding her with one hand (hard to tell though). I have yet to see one where she is cuddling the baby. Maybe a little post baby blue?

I’m sure all mothers would love to be judged on their mental state by two random photos … stretching a little maybe?
That’s probably the craziest observation I’ve ever read.

- Jill on

She just looks like a woman who is confident in her skills, and a mother who has done it all before. A tad uncalled for to go pyschoanalysing on the basis of two completley innocent pictures.

- Daisy on

I think she looks like an experienced relaxed mother holding a baby in hot weathre! Clutching them to your breast can get you and baby rtaher sticky fast in summer!

Cricket,

Do you have kids? I don’t ask rudely, just b/c I have a 6 month old and I realized very quickly it gets cumbersome to cradle a baby. I hold my son like Rachel holds Clementine.

- MZ on

What a sweet baby girl!

- mp on

Wow, she does look big/older for her age! Very cute though! Love the name!

- emilyc on

So cute! I love her name!!

Once they can hold their heads up moderately well, it’s much more comfortable to hold a baby like that, instead of in cradle position. Plus, some babies have reflux and gas and cry when being held flat. At least that’s how both of my boys were.

- Hannah on

Cricket that’s a really serious issue to throw out to glibly. Frankly, the most uncalled for and judgemental thing i’ve ever read on this sight- which when you talk parenting, says something.
2 photos does not a mentally conflicted mummy make.
I happen to think she looks graceful and earthy.

- Emily on

She does look like she’s checking her watch “Umm mom what time is lunch again?”

I do love the armchair psychologist amongst our midst. Two pictures is enough to diagnose someone? I thought docs were supposed to look at the whole picture not just a small snapshot of someone. I see a mother of 3 who’s been there before and is more relaxed in her child rearing. Someone who doesn’t think a baby will break. Now Ms Cricket would you rather she have the baby in a baby carrier or in her arms? Personally I love to see a mother (or father) holding their baby rather than using a baby carrier. The baby gets to see so much more of the world, a baby alone is sooooo much lighter than toting them in a carrier and I do believe professionals say skin to skin contact is a great bonding technique.

My daughter will be 4 months old in 3 days. At 2 weeks she was already trying to hold her head up. By 6 weeks she was and I was holding her the exact same way that Rachel is in this picture. I have also carried my children the same way she did in the other photo. Some babies enjoy being carried on their bellies over moms arm and for others, it helps with little gassy bellies. And no, I do not have post baby blues. I’m just a second time mom who is quite confident with my abilities as a mother. I think some people should take a step back and really think before they go judging something as simple as a picture.

- Heather on

I’m missing the connection between post partum depression and how the babes being held. Grasping at straws or what.

- gaia's mom on

Wow, she’s already holding her head up? I thought that didn’t happen for a while longer.

- Terri on

She is absolutely gorgeous. Her name is stunning as well. Although Banjo isn’t really my thing, I can see the appeal. I think Clementine and Adelaide are both perfect.

- Bella on

Really, really adorable!
