Jason Michael Carroll Cherishes Time With His Kids

On the road, singer Jason Michael Carroll is well-known for his sudden success in the world of country music with his debut album boasting three Top 40 hits on the Billboard chart. What awaits him at home, however, is a different vibe all together. The proud papa of Jason ‘J.W.’ Weldon, Gavin Michael, Savanna Nicole and Stori Paige tells The Boot that his fast rise to fame still does not compare to the accolades he earns as a father.

“When I take my kids to school and walk in the doors some kids yell, ‘Hey Jason Michael Carroll,’ but then the best recognition is when someone will walk up and say, ‘Hey, Gavin‘s dad’ or ‘Hey, Savanna‘s dad’ or ‘Hey, Stori‘s dad.’”

With his brood still relatively young, the country crooner is happy to take on the role of the doting dad. According to Jason, these days surely won’t last! “I mean, it’s just one of the coolest things ever because right now, my kids think it’s cool,” he says of taking his children to school. “But in a few years, they’re gonna be like, ‘Dad, can you wait in the car?’” Thrilled to take part in the kids’ dad-to-day routines, he laughs that for now he is simply “enjoying the fact that they like me being around!”

Jason’s son J.W., 3 ½, is his only child with wife Wendy, while Gavin, 8 ½, Savanna, 7 ½, and Stori, 5, are his children from a previous relationship.

Prince Lionheart Toddler Dishwasher Basket: Contain the Tons of Tiny Pieces

The Prince Lionheart Deluxe Toddler Dishwasher Basket ($8) is a great way to keep all those toddler spoons, forks, sippy cup lids and valves together in your dishwasher. It’s top-rack safe, has a removable valve/small parts basket inside and will fit in all size dishwashers.

I like that it’s large, holds a lot of my daughter’s forks, spoons, bottle collars and nipples and sippy cup valves, and it latches shut securely (so things don’t go flying out).

Emily Procter Wants to be Pregnant Onscreen — and Off!

Roger Karnbad/Celebrity

Which CSI franchise star wants 2009 to be the year she becomes a mom? If you guessed CSI: Miami‘s Emily Procter, you’d be correct!

“I am hoping this is my year to have children,” the actress, 40, recently shared at the Monte Carlo Television Festival. “I understand that I am possibly more European in my views of marriage. I am not going to say I’m not going to get married, but it’s not my priority.”

If Emily isn’t expecting by the end of the year, she’s hoping that at least her character will be! “I think the Eric and Calleigh story will work nicely if this is my year to get pregnant, and hopefully it will be.”

Happy Birthday Alexander 'Sasha' Pete Schreiber!

Ronn Torossian, 5W PR

Guess who’s turning two today? Happy Birthday Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete Schreiber! Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber‘s oldest son is celebrating his special day.

Becoming a big brother in late 2008, Sasha has grown up a lot this year, from the tiny tow-headed tot he was to a smiley little boy who’s “incredibly active.” A favorite here at CBB, Sasha is a total daddy’s guy, as we’ve seen from numerous sweet dad-son photos.

A true city boy — we most often see him in New York — Sasha reportedly loves the beach (and eating sand!) and running free down the waterfront with his family’s dogs. The little guy is just too cute — and we can’t wait to see even more of him as he grows!

For more of Sasha, Naomi, Liev and little Samuel Kai, check out our Watts-Schreiber Family Gallery!

Celebrity Moms Offer Nursing Advice, Encouragement

For some breastfeeding comes easily to both mother and baby, but for others the relationship takes work — a lot of work! The same holds true for celebrity moms, and in the August/September issue of Fit Pregnancy some familiar CBB faces offer advice and encouragement to those who are struggling to nurse.

“The biggest challenge of breastfeeding is getting over the hump of the first month,” Jennifer Garner says. “Just try and hang in there for six weeks and then you will hopefully realize you are over the worst of it and can really enjoy it.” If things still aren’t going well the 37-year-old actress — mom to Violet Anne, 3 ½, and Seraphina Rose, 6 ½ months — says to lay off the guilt, adding,

“Don’t judge yourself. If you can’t do it, there is no judgment.”

Without a Trace star Poppy Montgomery, mom to 19-month-old Jackson Phillip Deveraux, advises new moms to set “realistic goals.” Instead of committing to nursing for a “huge chunk of time,” Poppy says to focus on three month intervals. “Then you can reevaluate and decide whether to continue,” she says.

It was when Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, now 2, was three months old that his mom Naomi Watts returned to work — often a make-or-break moment in the breastfeeding relationship. Determined to succeed, Naomi recalls that while filming The International she would nurse during the day and send pumped milk to Sasha at his hotel while on location at night. She admits,

“I didn’t get proper rest, but that’s the struggle of balancing career and family.”

In addition to Sasha, Naomi is mom to son Samuel Kai, 7 months, with partner Liev Schreiber; Violet and Seraphina are Jennifer’s children with husband Ben Affleck; Jackson is Poppy’s son with partner Adam Kaufman
