Usually when someone is in preterm labor they try everything they can to delay the birth. Even if it’s only a couple extra days. This way they can give the mother steroid injections to help the baby’s lungs develop as much as possible before delivery. I would assume she was in the hospital and being monitored. Yes, when the water breaks there’s no going back but every day counts when a baby is preterm!

NO doctor in their right mind would allow a woman in such pre term labor to just sit around and go through it for two days. The health risks would be far too high for mother and baby.
