Celeb Parents Batter Up and Play Ball!

Take me out to the ball game! An eclectic mix of stars — and their kids! — showed up at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles July 25 and 26 for a two-day celebration, complete with events for the whole family.

Before the highly anticipated Dodgers vs. Florida Marlins game, celebrities mingled with local foster children, their mentors, and other supportive members of the community in order to bring awareness to the Los Angeles County foster program.

Desperate Housewives star James Denton (pictured below) and his kids — Sheppard, 6, and Malin, 4 — took a break from the all-star game to snap a quick photo! The tow-headed tots are James’ with his wife of six years, Erin O’Brien.

The SuperstarsDavid Charvet and model mama Brooke Burke were all smiles while out on the ball field with their daughter. However, it looks like something more exciting caught 2 ½-year-old Heaven Rain‘s eye!

The couple’s son Shaya Braven, 16 ½ months, sat this event out as did Brooke’s daughters Neriah, 9, and Sierra Sky, 7.

Say cheese! Singer Melanie Brown walked the red carpet and stopped for a quick family portrait with daughters Phoenix Chi, 10, and Angel Iris, 2, and husband Stephen Belafonte. We’re loving Angel’s glowing grin — and she’s still sporting her new ‘do!

Later, the 34-year-old mama took in the All Stars game with her adorable — and bright-eyed! — baby girl on her lap.

We can’t tell who’s cuter: Actor Neal McDonough in his Dodgers get-up or his expectant wife Ruvé Robertson, who showed off her beginning belly!

While the pair have yet to make an announcement, there was no denying her baby bump while walking the red carpet earlier this month.

Neal later cuddled with their son Morgan, 3 ½, for a cute father-son picture. Seems like the couple’s daughter Catherine ‘Cate’ Maggie, 2, sat this inning out.

I’m just going on the record to say that angel iris’s hair seems to suit her.
i think she is super cute that way.

Angel’s hair is ok, it doesn’t matter to me how people want to do their kids’ hair. I would just find it annoying if people assumed my little girl was a boy, which I’m sure is bound to happen!

- kaitlyn on

Kaitlyn – When my older daughter was younger people would still mistake her for a boy even if she was decked out in all pink. There are always going to be those people no matter how you dress/style your children.

Yeah, I was just about to say, even when I was a baby and was dressed in all pink, and my name was obviously a girl’s name, people would still call me “Sport” and think I was a boy, then I got my ears pierced, and it didn’t happen as often, but that does happen regardless of the hair cut, and frankly, its usually hard to tell if a baby or toddler is a girl or a boy sometimes anyway. A lot of kids are pretty ambiguous looking, esp. if they have long hair (as a boy) or short hair (as a girl), you can’t really tell until kids get a lot older and start to grow into their looks.

Awww Neal’s son looks so much like him, what a sweetie!

Rain certainly is a cutie! =)

well I’ve never seen a kid that really was a mix of both parents. Morgan McDonough’s left face side is all daddy while his right face side looks more like his mother to me

- Amélie on

I’ve mixed genders before – but it was a boy I mistook for a girl. The mom never corrected me and I found out later. I felt bad, but it happens.

All the kids are adorable!

HOLY COW! Malin Denton is 4 already? Where does the time go?

Cute kids, all around!

I love James Denton, and his kids are so cute. He played in the All-Star Celebrity softball game a couple weeks ago, but he was sporting an Orioles cap then. Pick a team Denton! Haha Go Phillies!

So Sweet all Family……….

Yeah just out of couriosity, why would someone assume a baby that is in pink is a boy? Someone once told me that it’s because lots of babies wear hand me downs. However, if I see a baby in pink, I would still first assume that it’s a girl before I’d assume its a boy wearing hand me downs. Im a new mom and it drives me nuts when these morons make inapropriate comments how cute my boy is (when my baby girl is dressed in pink head to toes) Only once, (and the baby is 6 weeks !) the lady corrected herself. I dont enjoy the attention anymore.

@Emily – That’s too funny about James…because if I recall, he’s a Boston fan! And I met him when he was throwing out the first pitche for the A’s, wearing their jersey! I know he’s a true baseball fan as much as he’s around the sport. I love it!

I was aprehensive about Angel’s hair at first, but she has such a pretty little face it doesnt even matter!!!

- Daisy on

That is pretty funny about James Denton, because he threw out the first pitch at a Twins game a few weeks ago, and when he was interviewed on TV he said that his wife was from Minnesota so the Twins are kind of his adopted baseball team, or something along those lines, lol.

Some of these comments bring a smile to my face…My daughter Meghan was totally bald until she was about 2 yrs old. People would ask “what’s his name”, even when she was dressed completely in pink and mostly dresses…I used to just let it slide, but got to the point in responding “would you put a pink dress on your son”…She is now 24, and has the most gorgeous head of hair..We laugh when we see pictures of her as a baby and I remind her of what people used to say..You have to laugh….With Angel, look beyond the hair cut and see a truly loved and cherished little girl…
