Poll: What Baby Stuff Did You Obsess Over?

Celebrity Baby Blog – Poll

Registering and shopping for baby products can be a lot of fun but also stressful. For example, picking out some things like clothing is an exercise in cuteness, while choosing something like a stroller can be taxing as it’s baby’s primary mode of transportation. What did you find that you obsessed about the most when it came to choosing stuff for your baby? In the comments section, please tell us why!

I think I’ve put more research into strollers than into the car we purchased 18 months ago! Though with the car, we quickly found one that met all of our needs.

Reasons for the difficulty in stroller choice:
-We live in a city, walk a lot, and also use public transportation
-We have a small car, so it needs to fold up small enough to fit in the car
-We live in a third floor apartment (with no elevator), and might not have somewhere to store the stroller on the ground floor
-We have a lot of snow in the winter, so want something that can handle sidewalks that aren’t properly cleaned
-The baby is due in December, and I’d like something with a bassinet so that the baby can be bundled in the bassinet during winter walks the first few months
-I’d like to have the option to have forward facing or rear facing with the stroller seat.
-I don’t want to spend a lot, especially for something that at this point might not even be useful if the baby hates the stroller.

If it weren’t for the winter weather and December birth, we might go for a Maclaren Triumph. At this point we’re thinking of an Uppababy Vista, but it is a lot more than we were planning to spend on a stroller.

baby carriers… I had like 5 wraps (each in a different length), 1 Ergo, 2 slings and a hip-carrier (looked like a belt but felt horrible)…

Baby carriers! I didn’t discover babywearing until my 3rd baby, but man do I love it now! I have a Maya Wrap ring sling, a Moby Wrap, and a mei tai. I even got my 5 year old her own mini MT for her baby doll!

#2, maybe skip the stroller for awhile, and invest in some good carriers instead. It’s a lot easier than dragging a stroller all over the city, and keeps baby nice and toasty!

Took us the longest to decide on the stroller. We went back and forth and finally ordered a Zooper online. In the end, it wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be. The carseat decision was easy thanks to Consumer Reports. They did all the work for me.

strollers,
i spend 700 in a peg perego and i still cant believe it
but i still loving that stroller

i felt the carseat was most important due to the safety issues. i spent hours researching the safest.
