Storksak Emily: New Look, Same Great Bag

07/01/2009 at 10:00 AM ET

You may not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but an old diaper bag? That’s a different story entirely. The designers at Storksak have given their popular Emily bag ($198) a makeover just in time for the warm weather ahead, and the end result was worth the wait!

Click below to learn which celebrity mom totes the Emily bag.

Two of the three new prints — Rococo and Bloom — are covered with florals and scrolls, in tastefully muted shades of chocolate and charcoal. Emily (the same bag that Angelina Jolie reached for after welcoming daughter Zahara Marley) also now comes available in a luxurious taupe leather, as well as its old standby shades of black, pewter, bronze and chocolate.

With its hip hobo styling, Emily in a solid color can and does easily pass for a large handbag at 11″x18″x6″. For women who like to see a distinct difference between their diaper bag and their handbag, however, Emily in either Rococo or Bloom make a great choice. All the features you would expect in a bag of this price are present: dual-side zip thermal pockets for bottles, a change pad, a make-up bag, cell phone pocket, a wipeable interior and exterior, and more.

I like the bag…not the price.

I just got practically the same style bag at Target for about $18! It’s not a diaper bag per se, but you don’t need a “diaper bag.” Just throw a changing pad in a regular bag and, voila, it’s a diaper bag. That’s basically all that manufacturers do anyway…and then charge more money because people think they are buying a specialty item.

Love the bag…it’s very pretty but wow that price is steep!

Love the bag! That print is adorable. I tried to get away with a regular purse for my diaper bag to cut down on expense but the truth is you get what you pay for. I quickly switched to a Storksak and the difference is amazing. I really love all the pockets for my babies things.

Storksack bags are so versatile and amazingly durable. I have one that I have used for a work bag and travel bag for almost four years and it looks new. I have overstuffed it every day and I continue to get comments about its’ stylish print. These bags make organizing “on-the-go” for baby, work or travel very easy and efficient. Love the Emily in the Bloom pattern.

Let the buyer beware!
Storksaks are over prices peices of junk. I have been through 3 damaged Emily bags in the last 21 months. The customer service is laughable. They offered me 25% off a new bag once my emily was peeling all over the place. JUNK JUNK JUNK!

I will only invest in a storksak! They are durable, trendy, and they provide a large amount of space for many items. I have a toddler with allergies and the multiple compartments provided help keep all of his meds well organized. Which is a must for emergency situations.
As a mom of two, there is little time to keep up with the changing fashion trends and little time to do things for yourself. Having said that, it’s always feel good to throw my bag over my shoulder and spice up an outfit and then when people see me they notice my bag! Love the print on the Emily bag.
