Ana Ortiz Welcomes Daughter Paloma Louise

Amanda Schwab/Startraks

Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz and her husband, musician Noah Lebenzon, have welcomed their first child, a daughter, on Saturday, June 27th, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The baby girl — Paloma Louise Lebenzon — was born at 4:25 p.m. in New York City and weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz.

The proud parents took their time deciding on a name and worked from a short list of five choices, wanting to get to know the baby before picking a name that fit. “We haven’t decided on a name yet,” Ortiz had told PEOPLE from the hospital. “But we are getting close.”

“She is elated and completely glowing,” said Ana’s rep. “She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful.”

Ana, 38, had been due this past Thursday.

Chicco Cortina Travel System: Fits Like A Glove

The Cortina Travel System by Chicco (pronounced KEY-co, it’s Italian!) is available in two configurations. Both include the same stroller and an infant car seat with a weight limit of 22 pounds ($280-300) or 30 pounds ($330). You just have to evaluate the features and functions of both pieces to choose the combination that’s right for you.

Pros: The Cortina has a lot of well-thought-out storage compartments and a sun shade that clicks down in front of the baby. It stands when folded and has a removable liner for the toddler tray. The car seat is easy to install and has cute fabrics.

Cons: Hard, plastic tires don’t make the smoothest ride in the world, but I really can’t complain. The stroller is bulky when folded. The car seat has a very small sun shade.

Final Verdict: The Cortina Travel System is a good buy with a really full-featured stroller and functional car seat.

Summer Infant Secure Comfort Foam Booster: Versatile Seating For Little Diners

Family dinners are important in our house, and even our 1-year-old son Egan sits at the table with the rest of the family. Summer Infant’s Secure Comfort Foam Booster ($37) is a nice chair for toddlers (age one to 33 pounds) because it adjusts as they grow.

It features a three-point safety harness and folding legs that raise the seat an extra 2 1/2 inches. Two adjustable straps buckle the booster securely to a kitchen chair. It has no tray but comes in a mesh carrying case that’s perfect for storing it. The foam seat is easy to wipe clean. We always have an extra booster on hand for playdate guests or spontaneous road trips and this is a great option.

Alison Sweeney Chooses Wii Over Gym to Shed Baby Weight

Jill Johnson/JPI

When the time came for mom-of-two Alison Sweeney to shed the weight she gained while pregnant with daughter Megan Hope, 5 months, she drew from her experience as host of NBC’s The Biggest Loser. “I’ve learned a lot about nutrition and how to count my calories” as a result of the show, she tells PEOPLE. Of course, juggling a diet and exercise routine with two small children and a busy career is tough, but Alison says she found a great ally in the EA Sports Active package for the Nintendo Wii. Not only does it save the 32-year-old Days of Our Lives actress the trouble of having to find a babysitter,  it is straightforward enough that son Benjamin Edward, 4 ½, can play along as well. “It’s just a good example of how you can really get it done at home,” she says, adding,

“You don’t need to have a big fancy gym membership. One of the things we talk about on The Biggest Loser all the time is just how difficult it is financially to lose weight sometimes. And that isn’t an excuse anymore. There are really reasonable options.

Alison revealed that she gained less weight with her second pregnancy than with her first, in part by reaching for fresh fruits over processed sweets.  She acknowledged, however, that indulging each and every craving is a right of passage for most first time expectant mothers. “You deserve to be spoiled – but within reason,” she cautioned.

Life with two has been twice as nice for Alison and husband David Sanov, who have enjoyed the learning curve that comes with a subsequent child. “There is a relaxation of just knowing you’ve been through it, knowing you survived and your kid survives and you can handle it,” she notes. Megan — as a result — is an “easygoing” baby who is “ready to rally” at a moments’ notice. ”Because we’re taking Ben to soccer or we’re taking him to school or whatever it is,” Alison explains, “you do kinda relax into it, which was nice.”

“It made me feel like, okay, I got this.  I can handle this.”

As for Ben, who will graduate from preschool later this month, the role of big brother continues to be greeted with enthusiasm — for now! ”Obviously she’s not stealing his toys yet or whatever, so I imagine the other shoe will drop,” Alison said. “But right now he is so loving towards her…We’ve been so blessed with that.”

Kevin Dillon on Traveling With His Toddler in Tow: 'It's Tough!'

Andy Hayt/Rogers Photo Archive/Getty

As an actor, Kevin Dillon‘s career has taken him all over the globe; As a father, however, traveling with a toddler leaves much to be desired! “It’s just really hard because my wife [Jane Stuart] is Scottish, so we have to go back to Scotland and it’s like three different flights,” he tells PEOPLE at the 8th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball.

Fortunately, with 3-year-old daughter Ava having recently graduated from diapers, the couple have one less item to pack, but Kevin is quick to admit that the rest of the gear — and airport security — certainly make up for the difference! “It’s tough, man,” he says.

“Just having to have the car seat, and the stroller, and all the stuff you have to bring along … you end up having to sip from the bottle to prove that it’s not explosive in any way.”

An experienced traveler with Ava in tow, the 43-year-old has picked up a few tips and tricks along the way. His advice? A movie! “I think the DVD player is always good, keep them busy, put on Sponge Bob or something and let them zone out,” he suggests.

While his travel troubles may not be the highlight of fatherhood, Kevin shares that daughter Ava certainly knows how to make her dad crack a smile! “She does this thing where she goes in between my legs like a figure eight and she says, ‘I’m a nake!’ — meaning ‘I’m a snake!’ — but she says a nake, and I don’t even want to correct her,” he shares. “I think it’s hilarious.”

Kevin is also dad to Amy, 18, his daughter from a previous relationship.

Patouche: Clothes That Keep Going and Going and Going…

We all love dressing our children in adorable clothing, but sometimes it can mean spending a lot of money on something they’ll only wear a couple of times. Not so with clothes from Patouche.

Handmade in Canada in small batches, Patouche clothes (starting at $28) are designed to grow with your child. The reversible little smock top pictured above that fits an 8-month-old like a dress, can be worn year after year, still functioning as a top five years down the road. Seriously. Five years! Now that’s a wise investment.
