Alessandra Ambrósio and Anja Take Flight

Karl/Tony/INF

Special delivery coming down the line! Model Alessandra Ambrósio cuddles with 9-month-old daughter Anja Louise while waiting for their bags to clear security on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

We wonder where they were off to — maybe Alessandra’s native Brazil?

The Victoria’s Secret Angel, 28, recently shared that she hopes to help her daughter embrace both of her cultures, saying, “I’m going to raise her both places. Half Brazil and half American, that’s how it goes. In Brazil, there’s this thing where people are really happy. Whatever they go through in life, they’re really happy, and that’s one thing I want her to feel like. Here in America, people are very professional. They’re serious and that’s another thing I want her to have.”

Cate Blanchett Says Her Sons Are Her Secret Stylists

Courtesy InStyle Australia

Life is full of surprises! What was slated to be a normal interview for the June issue of InStyle Australia started off with a bang for Cate Blanchett: her 13-month-old son Ignatius ‘Iggy’ Martin is officially mobile! “Do you know Iggy just walked four steps … my baby, walking … it’s incredible!” she boasted to the magazine. Fortunately, the latest milestone will not only be celebrated by Cate’s husband Andrew Upton and their two sons Dashiell John, 7 ½, and Roman Robert, 5, but also the couple’s extended family as well, all due to their move back to their native Australia.

After nine years spent in England, Cate and Andrew alike felt strong homesick pangs after the birth of their second son and soon began contemplating the big move. As the two longed for their families back in Australia, a unique job opportunity presented itself — Cate was offered a position as joint director of the Sydney Theatre Company — only solidifying their feelings and quickly leading the family to pack their bags and head home! According to Cate, the perfect timing of the whole situation was less than coincidental.

“To step away from the offer would have been cowardice. And yes, it coincided with a desire to come back for family reasons. I think that’s often the way with right decisions.”

That said, while Cate is certainly reaping the benefits of her job, so are her three boys! “They come to the theatre all the time,” the proud mama reveals. The frequent visits are taking effect as her sons love none other than to dig into their “big costume box” stashed at their home and, not unlike most boys their age, take on the life of their favorite characters. “Like every single boy on the planet, they’re into superhero and superhero costumes,” Cate reveals.

From the playroom to their mama’s closet, the 40-year-old actress admits she can often be seen sporting outfits put together with a touch of love from her oldest son. While she laughs that as a mom of three she often finds herself wearing “the same thing three days in a row,” that doesn’t seem to stop Dashiell from digging through her racks of clothes to produce his masterpiece!

“They also love to help me pack my suitcases when I’m going overseas. And Dash, our eldest son, will often say, ‘Can I choose what you’re going to wear?’ So he will then choose what I wear before I go out.”

Safety 1st Nature Next Bamboo Pressure Gate: Stylish and Eco-Friendly Childproofing

Safety 1st offers the new eco-friendly Nature Next Bamboo Pressure Gate ($23), which has a sustainable bamboo frame with recycled plastic panels. It extends from 28′ – 42″ and is 24″ tall. Don’t use the gate at the top of stairs or with a child that can climb over or dislodge/open the gate.

The gate was sturdy, and very easy to adjust and place into door frames. Pull the top arm up into the open unlocked position, then slide the locking pin into the slot to fit your doorway, then press the top arm into the wooden locking bar — this will secure the gate in the doorway. Make sure to place the gate so the locking mechanism is on the side of the gate that is away from your child.

Steal That Style: Maternity Denim Duds

Celebrity Baby Blog – Steal That Style

A pregnancy may only seem like a moment in time, but those months just might be where comfort is needed most! As an expectant mama’s burgeoning belly begins to grow and maternity clothes become a necessity, the initial shopping spree is often all about purchasing the staples, which should include a great pair of quality jeans.

Apparently, we aren’t the only ones who think a good pair of maternity jeans are a great option for both running errands or walking the press line at celebrity events. Over the last few weeks we have spotted Kelly Rutherford looking casual yet chic while hanging out on the set of Gossip Girl, new mama Kimora Lee Simmons who dressed up the jeans look for a lunch date, Nicole Richie who opted for a darker denim to show off her beginning belly and Ellen Pompeo out grabbing a cup of coffee in a pair of washed-out jeans. Before welcoming her daughter in March, Alyson Hannigan was often seen in Paige Premium Denim‘s Laurel Canyon style maternity jeans in their McKinley ($196) and Lagoon washes ($194), making them the go-to jeans for the actress.

Before heading out and picking up a few denim duds of your own, make sure you know what options are available. Like other maternity pants, jeans are styled similarly as non-maternity — they have front and rear pockets, and often have a faux fly — but they make special accommodations for your bump. There are three basic styles: over-the-belly, mid-belly and under-belly. Over-the-belly has a stretchy panel that covers the entire stomach, starting under the belly and ending just under the bust. This style is great for the second and third trimester but in the early days may slip until your bump is big enough to hold it up. The mid-belly category includes the self-belly panel, where the belly panel is sewn under the fabric for a more discreet look; the half-belly panel, where the belly band is only sewn into the front of the jeans; and the mid-belly panel, with the top of the panel sitting even with the belly button to provide moderate coverage, but maximum comfort. The under-belly category includes the under-belly panel, which sits below the belly button and offers only minimum tummy coverage and the no-belly panel, which is essentially an extremely low-rise cut in the front only — there is no defined stretchy fabric sewn into the jeans so the front of the pants sit lower under the belly — while offering extra support to the back.

All styles can be worn throughout the entire pregnancy (and even after, as you get back into shape) but certain kinds are better depending on how much you’re showing and how you’re carrying. Of course, it also depends on what’s comfortable for you — for example, some women can’t stand having anything on their bellies so they prefer the under-belly options while they leave other women feeling too bare. Our advice is to wait until you start showing before you invest in pants. Until then, you can wear your old jeans unbuttoned or even unzipped a bit with accessories like the IsABelt ($17) or Bella Band ($26+).
