Ana Ortiz: I Have Vanessa Williams on Stand By

Derek Storm /Splash News Online

Car seat? Check. Overnight bag? Check. Vanessa Williams? Check! With less than two weeks to go until she’s due to welcome her first child — a daughter — Ana Ortiz has made a list and checked it twice for the big day. “Is anyone ever ready?” she laughs, adding that baby girl’s nursery is complete. “I feel about as ready as I think I can, but I know that there’s going to be a million things that sort of are like, ‘Huh! Oh my gosh!’”

If her predictions are true, and things go awry on the big day, the expectant mama is relying on her Ugly Betty co-star — and mother of four — for support.

“I got Vanessa Williams on speed dial for any mommy emergencies!”

With little time to spare before shooting begins for the upcoming season, Ana reveals that baby will join her on set two weeks after her due date of June 25th. “I’m hoping they give me a little padding, but you never know,” she says. “Everybody is so excited … it’s going to be pretty amazing.”

Ali Landry Talks About Her Traveling Trio

Alex DiCiero/Broadimage

Life for Ali Landry and 23-month-old daughter Estela Ines is all about one thing these days: the potty! “Our main thing right now is trying to get the child on the potty,” Ali laughingly told CBB during a recent Giggles and Hugs event. In an effort to keep her daughter still as the two play the waiting game, the model and actress pulls out all the stops — mainly stickers and books — staying hopeful that Estela will relax and go to the bathroom. When she does step up to the plate and produce results, that’s when the fun begins.

“Peepeeing on that potty, there’s a party in the house when that happens.”

With Father’s Day right around the corner, Ali may soon be handing off the potty training to her mother. “I’m going do something for my husband,” she says of her plans for the big day. Looking forward to packing Alejandro Gomez Monteverde‘s bags and surprising him with a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Ali admits the irony of the situation. “I know, Father’s Day without a child, right?” she muses. “But, sometimes mom and dad need a little time alone.”

“And we’re going to Italy for the summer and Estela is going to be staying with my mother in Louisiana. We travel a lot.”

That said, Estela isn’t always left behind; The trio recently returned from a Bahamas vacation. Unfortunately, baby girl was less than thrilled with the beach scene. “At first she was really, really afraid,” Ali shares. Once her initial fears passed, there was no stopping the rambunctious toddler, who kept her mama constantly on her toes. “There’s no relaxing, and there is no laying down reading books, you’re chasing them absolutely everywhere,” she notes before recalling her former laid-back beach excursions. “Looking forward to those days again!”

Up next for Estela? Her second birthday! Already planning for the big day, Ali reveals that the family will celebrate the milestone at the Silver Spoon beach house in Miami. “We’re excited about that,” she says.

Exclusive: Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette Turns 4!

Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette, daughter of entertainer Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller, celebrated her fourth birthday in true princess style at the family’s Las Vegas home on June 7th. Surrounded by friends decked out in “royal attire” and other loved ones, Princess Moxie was surprised by a visit from “a real Cinderella” — one who had played the role at Walt Disney World — who entertained her guests with a reading of the Cinderella story, gave out tiaras, painted faces and led the kids in a treasure hunt and royal dancing in addition to a fashion show complete with a red carpet.

Moxie’s mother Emily tells Celebrity Baby Blog, “we talked about [the theme] for weeks… it was between a repeat of Nemo and Cinderella. I was pushing for Nemo because Penn is against princesses. He says a lot of people died to get away from royalty in power and we shouldn’t celebrate them. But in the end, Moxie won.”

Moxie’s little brother Zolten Penn — who celebrated a recent birthday himself, turning three on May 22nd — attended the party as well and took part on his own terms! Although the preschooler was happy to blow out a Z spelled out in candles on the cupcake cake, he refused to dress in a prince costume, telling Emily, “that’s not a fun thing to do, Mommy.”

Moxie’s favorite gift by far was a pink nightgown with a picture of Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty on the front that she has worn every night since the party. “I’ve had some pretty fantastic parties for the kids every year, but this is the first one that Moxie was really involved in the theme and decorations,” Emily notes. “I think it will be the first one she really remembers. “

Melissa Joan Hart Loves Showing Off Her Boys

Jen Lowery/Startraks

In a new interview with MomLogic, Melissa Joan Hart offers her observations on the growing public fascination with the children of celebrities. Joking that “babies are the new black,” the 33-year-old actress goes on to note that “for a while it was cool to carry your dog on the red carpet, and now it’s cool to bring your kid.” If she has any regrets about her own two sons – Mason, 3, and Braydon, 15 months — becoming public figures, it doesn’t show.

“I never knew who Paul Newman’s kids are but we all know who Suri Cruise is. I don’t know if the media needs more to write about, but I love sharing my kids with the world. I love showing them off a little!”

Life is moving fast for the family of four, which includes Melissa’s husband Mark Wilkerson. Between her acting career, her recent 42 lb.weightloss and her new candy store SweetHarts, Melissa is a busy working mom. Fortunately, the boys seem no worse the wear — but the same can’t always be said for their mom! “They’re very happy,” she shares. “They’re very laid-back and active … and amazing!” But “the changes happen day-to-day,” Melissa notes. “If I’m working and I get a call, I feel like “Ah, man!” Literally I miss a day and I miss so much. It’s amazing how quickly it happens.” Melissa relies on a nanny to fill in where needed, but she has “ground rules” that are strictly adhered to.

“My one thing is, don’t let a nanny raise the child…Our nanny has become a good friend. It’s really hard sometimes with the boundaries, exactly because I want to treat her like a friend, but that’s also why there are ground rules. We’ve only had one nanny, and she’s been with us since the second son was born.”

Click below for Melissa’s thoughts on a third child, and the importance of multitasking.
