Jennifer Meyer Maguire Nestles Her Newborn

INF

She may be keeping her son — and his name — under wraps, but Jennifer Meyer Maguire was all smiles as she stepped out with her newborn in a pretty sling on Sunday in Beverly Hills. Calif.

The 6-week-old baby boy is the second child for Jennifer and husband Tobey Maguire, who are also parents to daughter Ruby Sweetheart, 2 ½.

Jennifer snuggles her son in a Serena & Lily Peacock Market Sling ($129).

My children were not slingable, but this is so gorgeous, I want to buy one for my friend!

wow she looks great!

- Jess on

Has anyone heard rumor to what this baby’s name is? I’m so curious! I love the name Ruby :)

- Lis on

That is the most beautiful sling I have ever seen!

- Stella Bella on

Wow! I love that sling! It might be the prettiest one I’ve ever seen. Jennifer looks really good. Can’t wait to hear the baby’s name.

- Trish on

I was just thinking about this little one this weekend…wondering what his name is…..why won’t they say!!!!!!

- April on

The sling is beautiful, and she looks so happy! I do wish she was wearing the sling more snugly, though, it would be muc more comfortable for her and the baby.

And to the pp, I think all babies are slingable – you just have to find the right sling and someone to help you use it!

- Laurel McCarthy on

That sling is so beautifull, I should start saving up now for one so I have it by the time I have my first, heeheee.

She looks so great, I just love her and Toby and little Ruby together. Such a sweet cute family.
Can’t wait to hear this little mans name.

- Sammy-xx on

Anyone know of any on-line coupons for that sling? And to Laurel McCarthy, no, not all babies are slingable. I have four children, and three different slings. Working with stores, fellow slingers, and DVDs, my babies did not care for them. They seemed to prefer to be carried on my back, even as newborns. Perhaps they preferred the pressure against their bellies, I’ll never know. I think all babies are different, and I would try the sling again if I had a fifth because I do think they are terrific, and very easy. And beautiful!

- crimpe on

What a pretty sling!

- Y on

I agree that is a gorgeous sling!

I also agree that not all babies are “slingable”. For instance, my son was premature and on an apnea monitor until almost 4 months old so he couldn’t be in a sling (the monitor would have gone off non-stop!). And once he was off the monitor I tried various slings and he just didn’t want anything to do with any of them.

- Tia on

I wonder what his name is! Did they “release” Ruby’s name when she was born or later?

- Brooklyn on

I’m off to buy that sling now! I adore it, my little girl will be here in 8 weeks, I can’t wait!

- mama2be on

Love that sling!

- Terri on

This momma is just so cute. I love to see a celebrity mother who has a face of her own.

I put my money on Alexander and Julian! But it would be very cool if they had found a cool, not very crazy gemstone name for a boy too! Jasper maybe?

- Laura on

WHY WON’T THEY TELL US HIS NAME?! Grrrr.

Hahaha, sorry, but she looks absolutely beautiful.

- Mallory on

What a pretty sling! I’ll have to save up and get it for my next baby :)

- Stephanie on

What a beautiful sling. Sad price, though.

- Ana on

I can just see Ruby’s hair on the left of the photo. I don’t think that’s Tobey carrying her as look at the hairy arm. Tobey isn’t that hairy!

- Helen on

Brooklyn, I thought that they released Ruby’s name shortly after she was born. That’s why I’m confused why they aren’t releasing anything now.

- MZ on

I am going to guess the name Oliver. Whatever they name him, i bet it will be cute :) I just love the choice of Ruby.

- Jess from Ohio on

That’s a really pretty sling, but $129 for it? For that sort of money you’d think it would walk the baby around itself!

- Amber on

beautiful sling but she definitely needed a size smaller. way too big, way too low.

- SH on

I think the baby’s name is: Milo or Jasone or Ron!

- lolita on

They did the opposite of Anna Belknap and Eric Siegel. They have never released their daughter’s name, and she is around 4 now, I think. They had a boy in February and did release his name. More celebrities now seem to be choosing to withhold the baby’s name for longer, it seems!

I bet he’s so precious!

- Sarah M. on

I put money on the name Max.
That’s why they aren’t releasing it.
Too many Maxs lately. :)

- Ali on

Nice looking sling, but it looks like it is ready to fall off her. Also, the way that it is making her right shoulder drop, makes me wish she would use a two shoulder sling.

- baby carriers backpacks on

I completely forgot they had another baby lol, wonder what the little guys name is!!!

- L on

Beautiful sling! My son didn’t like it (maybe I didn’t get the hang of it right) but he loves the moby wrap. He is 12 months and still loves it

- Lizz on

Jennifer looks INCREDIBLE!!! I ♥ that sling!!!! I ♥ Jennifer Meyer Maguire! Her jewelry pieces are BEAUTIFUL!!! CONGRATS again!!

- Crystal on

Ron Maguire!!!

- lise on

this is the prettiest sling I’ve ever seen… unfortunately it seems to be made of normal fabric and not wrap-fabric… which supports the baby a lot better than normal fabric.

- ingrid on

the sling’s not that pretty. I personally prefer solid colors, and besides that she doesn’t seem to be wearing it properly.

- chanda on

When I meant “slingable,” I meant it’s possible to find a baby carrier that you can wear your baby in – whether it’s on your back, front, or in a wrap, mei tai, baby bjorn or something else! I agree that ring slings like this one aren’t for everyone, you have to find the sling/carrier that’s right for you and your baby.

- Laurel on

Lovely sling, beautiful mama! And Laurel, totally agree with you. All babies are capable of being worn in a carrier. I never got the hang of cradle carry in a sling like that, but loved tummy to tummy and hip carries in one. And my 3 year old still loves a ride on mama’s back in one of our many woven wraps!

- Cristina on

I agree, Cristina and Laurel. There is not just one kind of sling to carry a baby one way. There are so many different kinds. I used to help families figure them out, and I have never met a parent that I could not help find a carrier for that worked for them.

You can use a sling or a pouch on your back, and you can use a structured carrier or a wrap as well to do back carries.

In addition to slings, there are non adjustable pouches (hotslings, peanut shell), adjustable pouches (mom and me pea in the pods, kangaroo corner), woven wraps (girasol, didymos), stretchy wraps (moby), mei tais (baby hawk), structured carriers (ergo, beco), chuneis, podaegis.

The list goes on and on, and there are a number of brands under each type. Just see thebabywearer.com. It’s wild.

That sling is gorgeous! I love it. My kid was never a sling fan, but he loved a pouch and the wrap. I hope my next one loves the sling because this is really a gorgeous sling.

- MC on

Jennifer looks gorgeous! I can’t wait to hear what they’ve named their son.

- Christina on

Now what did they name this one? Can’t wait to find out… love the name Ruby, and if she had red hair…

- Holly on
