Brooke Anderson Welcomes Daughter Kate Victoria

It’s the greatest headline to date for CNN Entertainment Correspondent Brooke Anderson! The co-host of HLN’s Showbiz Tonight and her husband Jim became first-time parents last month when they welcomed their daughter on Tuesday, May 5th. Baby girl Kate Victoria Walker, making her big debut at 6:40 a.m., weighed in at 8 lbs., 1 oz and measured 20 inches long.

Congratulating his co-host and announcing the birth on air Wednesday night, A.J. Hammer sent out warm wishes to the new family.

“Everybody at Showbiz Tonight [is] over the moon for you, Brooke.”

The pregnancy was announced in November, with Brooke telling CBB in February that the excited couple had opted for a delivery surprise. “There are too few good surprises in life,” she said. “We are excited to find out baby’s gender the traditional way.”

Kate Victoria is absolutely beautiful and so is her name! Love it! And I love that adorable little crocheted hat/cap/bonnet she’s wearing! (Her abundant dark hair brings back a lot of memories…my daughter had at least double that amount and looked like she was wearing a wig when she was born! LOL!)

Sammy-xx, my daughter drew a CROWD at the hospital! There were people who heard about her on other floors from other people and they, too, came to see. It was quite a sideshow! After we left the hospital, it took me forever to go anywhere because people would come up to us to get a look at her. I’m a light blonde, so you can imagine how odd we looked together. People would ask me if she was adopted! (I told them she had a father, too, who happened to be Italian!) The uncomfortable part of it was when total strangers would come up and run their fingers through her hair or pick her UP to touch her hair. One woman scooped her up out of her stroller before I could stop her and ran off with her to show other people at the mall! It was so upsetting to me because I was a new mother and that was my baby that people were touching and grabbing without my permission. My daughter now looks back at pictures of herself as a baby and says she looked like Elvis! LOL! I loved her dark, thick hair that was so long AT BIRTH I could pull it into a ponytail or put barrettes or clippies in it. This picture of little Kate Victoria took me back to those times for a moment.

anyone else confused by the third arm in the first photo? There’s another one just sticking up by her back. I thought it must have been her twin but she wasn’t a multiple.

sammy-xx and Southernbelle- That’s exactly what happened when my dad was born! He was born with so much hair that practically everyone in the hospital had to come and see him! Also, the babies on his mother’s side of the family were famous for being born with very little to no hair. Needless to say, they were a bit surprised when he popped out with a full head of hair!
